[BUG] Spectating games causes chat/game freezing

    Just experienced this twice in the two games I spectated since patch. Both times chat stopped showing updates, and the game froze, shortly after a game join notification showed in the game chat log. Unsure of whether it was simple coincidence or there may be a performance related problem with the new chat join notifications.

    So, you joined a game as a spectator - and you saw the join notification for you joining in the chat window before the game froze?

    I joined the game, spectated for some amount of time (perhaps 5-10 minutes), and after others joined (not just the first) I observed the freezing behavior. Apparently based on chat interactions my typed text WAS going through, but it wasn't showing any chat from me or anyone else on my client.

    Maybe related, leaving it here. Spectated a game (ffox), suspected it was over when the in-game chat tab disappeared but on screen chars, board, timer are counting down. Did a clip from console and saw this:

    I wanted to spectate a game today, clicked on it and the rolling loading screen appeared and stayed. I could still see chat as people were chatting in lobby but didn't get to see the game. Had to refresh.
