Based on my understanding of how Lifesaving Block works, extra damage from buffs isn't taken into consideration by blocks that trigger based on damage. However, in the game I just played, a Desperate Block (block any 5+ damage) triggered against Backbiting Strike (4 damage) buffed with Mass Frenzy (+3 damage). Is this a bug? Is this how it's supposed to work? At the very least, it's a deep inconsistency in the way damage-conditional blocks function.
Agreed it's an inconsistency, at least with what we've previously learned about Lifesaving Block. I've been finding myself a bit surprised by block functionality in recent days so I'm wondering if something has changed. I run Lifesaving blocks and they've been triggering against damage buffed by Savage Curse or All out Attack. Don't have logs.
Huh... hmmm... I will have to test this. Will report back with results at some point, unless the devs beat me with an explanation.
