There have been 2 reports already that a single block can block the whole burst or linear spell. Once it was mentionied that it was only the fault of Disorienting Block, although attacker wasn't moved outside of needed LoS/burst range.
Haven't witnessed it myself, just pointing it out in this forum.

Tested with Lightning Bolt vs Disorienting Block and regular Block. Couldn't repro. More information would be appreciated.

I wonder if it happens with Disorienting Block if the blocker moves the caster out of sight of the other target?

In fact that is the case.

I think this is a feature, not a bug. Argue me out of that point of view.

It depends on if you want to think it through via game dynamics or battlefield dynamics.

According to game dynamics I think it works as expected:
    - the block effects take place immediately interrupting the attack, the attacker is moved out of position to see the targeted square, the attack is no longer able to be completed as initiated and is therefore canceled.

According to battlefield dynamics I think the reverse is the case:
    - a wizard lobs a magical burst of embers into a crowd of enemies, one enemy is able to flip out of the way disorientating the wizard who staggers back a step, but the fireball has already been cast and though the wizard can no longer see where he sent the ember burst, he hears the satisfying sound of his enemies' cries as the explosion bursts upon them.

Sorry to post on such a old thread, but this just happened to me.

I just threw a fireball to hit 2 of opps' chars. One of them had Disorienting Block, the other only dash.
Disorienting Block activated and opp moved my mage one square back; which caused me to lose range to the original spot and cancelled the burst effect on the other char.

This is not how an explosion is supposed to work... One character protecting himself should never stop the explosion from happening.
The character that protected should be unscathed, the other should be crispy rice cakes...

It reminds the "feature" where Barbed Platemail damages its owner when it prevents damage from Ouch!. Might be more logical the other way but since it's no surprise (to Jon) that the card works this way and both buffed burst and Spiked Tlahuiztli could do with a tiny nerf they have not been changed.

Also idk if it's related but double axe to the face is entirely cancelled against parry (on one target) which drastically remove it's effectiveness when targeting twice the same target (it's already reduced twice agaisnt armor)

Same with chop; i can't relly remember but i saw once an obliterating chop entrely cancelled against 2 target because the first target blocked it=> i'm not sure it was a disorienting block; it seems that a block against a chop is enough to cancel it entirely while parry only block it for the guy which has parry.
