Block vs Cave In (WAI?)

    but fails!
    EW_test1 tries to block the attack -
    and succeeds!
    EW_test1 discarded Block.
    HP_test1 took 2 Crushing damage.
    EWiz_test1 took 2 Crushing damage.

    what did block actually block ?

    A interesting question tho. Should blocking a attack that has ground effect as part of it prevent the ground effect in your square?

    True, but blocking doesn't block hot spot et c does it? I think the damage is caused differently here - falling rock makes sense to be able to block (but not parry et c). But then again, I think you're thinking of the terrain not changing to difficult terrain if blocked? I guess it would make sense to still pile up around your feet et c, so I'd say - block damage only.

    Depends how you look at it if you block a cave in with your shield to the point where you dont take a single point of damage i would still say rocks should fall around you not under you. Same for say acid spray if a wave of acid hits your shiled but you dont take a single point of damage logically under you shouldn't be cowered in acid. Not that I'm saying that logic is flawless but its how i see it at least.

    Well, laws of physics and all that. If it's a mass around you, it'll flow into the square you're standing in. If it's a single square I'd say it could either be deflected a square or so, or flow down to the ground. You just block the "impact". Then again, we're talking physics here, not game mechanics ;)

    The block stops the damage but not the terrain attachment.
