Bought myself a key on Iron Helmet Games so thought we should have a game with some of you guys! I've hosted a match (here) and you can get in with the password. If you dont know what im talking about then go here! Set yourself up a profile and then find the game called Card Hunter Crewz. The password will be "BlueManchu" Without quotations The game will be paused untill Sunday Edit: link works now
So, what is the plan here? I've pretty much sent all my guys out to take over nearby unguarded cities. Will the neutral armies attack undefended cities, or is it just the zombies I should look out for?
Ya, be careful of powerful zombies, they can sometimes get even more powerful. In another game im playing i noticed a 490 strength zombie horde and that frightened me. Untill the next day when they were 590 strength then i almost flipped. Just cause you cant see their reinforcing, doesnt mean they dont have more on the way.
Intermittently, yes - it seems to have been bad yesterday, no problems for me this morning. Usually I will be able to connect after waiting about ten minutes; it's frustrating when you just want to make a quick check before bedtime. We Northern Dwarves get cranky without a solid eight hours of snoring.
Finally got in--good to see my nation prospered in my absence. On another note, what is going to happen to the huge swath of land in the south that the vacant players should be claiming? I've almost encircled the far western zed, but the hordes on my southeastern border can pretty much expand away from me indefinitely as long as their random travel permits it.
Will most likely be overrun by zombies. I dont forsee too many problems with that. My other game consists of me and just one other player, and the 3rd is just me and with those we are slowly turning the tide of battle. That and its set to easy mode cause i didnt know how many people would join me. Even if all of you drop out and its just me, i should be able to pull a win out my ass. If you guys find this enjoyable and want to play more after this map, i can start a player vs player map and see how that goes. Probably pick a smaller map like the 6 man map next time
Hah! On my first game (also easy difficulty), all seven other players were dropped after four days of inactivity. As best as I can tell, two of them never made any moves at all and the other five went silent about five hours in. Since all "their" Z's kept going, it's been interesting. I had some good fortune consolidating my early position and I'm doing quite well.
Elven hunters knock of 10% of an opposing army for 2 points of strength. That might be a way to bring those bad boys down.
So, are merchants worth anything? I bought one misreading the "+2 coins" to be "x2 coins" and cant really fathom how paying 15 blues makes since for an army that is now going to take a week to just break even. I guess I could march them out to y'alls provinces to perform some foreign trade, but that's going to take a week as well!
Ya ive off to the side set up 4 elder wizards "1% unit damage per hour" 6 elvish warriors and 9 elder shamans merging in to take care of him. Yes merchants are awesome! Its like making an investment without losing in the end. I have 6 merchants in my one game, together they add +10 coins per day of sitting on my land. Then i decided to move them to a red coin based land, maxed out the market for that land and gave it away to my ally. Now every day when his ability pops up i spend the 1 blue coin and get 8 red in return, only i have 6 merchants on that piece of land each doing that every day. Thats 40 red coins for 6 blue, quite a steal. I'm funding his and my red based army with those merchants cause im getting so much red coins i cant spend them all in a day.
Ah--so foreign trade really is as beneficial as I guessed, but the real way to capitalize on it is to get a good foreign city near you. Interesting! Looks like someone is going to get some gift cities pretty soon...
ya, the best way to benefit is to ither move your merchants to a friendly well defended city, or to trade a city in your territory easily defended that is already maxed out on markets
