On the last level of the Highway Robbery adventure the shaman killed the big enemy which name i can't remember right now but there is only one there, with an unholy frenzy while he was on 1 health. This might be because i had an amazing opening hand and got him down to 1 health in the first round, maybe the AI does not check for health that early on, or it was a scripted event? Or maybe Gary just did not like him?
I wonder if they take 'risks' ? Did the big guy have ANY armor at all that just failed or maybe they only view the spell as a buff alone ? cool though
Hmm i can't remember him having armor, or it would have failed on 4 or 5 attacks, which i think i would have noticed. He might have had a block card though, except for one magic card for 1 damage all attacks were for more than 5 damage, so i might have missed a failed block when i did the 1 damage magic attack. The magic attack had Slide Back 1 though, so it might be possible the AI saw the effect only and not the damage it did?
I just encountered this in the fourth fight of the same adventure. The shaman used Unholy Frenzy on the goblin that had 1hp instead of the two other goblins that had better health. I found it funny though in this case, i just imagined the shaman casting the spell on the goblin and then being surprised when the weak underling couldn't handle the power and died. And goblins wouldn't probably care much for their underlings in any case... If the same happened against 'smarter' enemies, then I'd of course classify it as a bug.
I find it helps to believe that Gary is roleplaying the monsters, and that sometimes they're not very clever. Actually, if I recall correctly, some of the monsters do have subtle personalities outside of their decks.
