A number of people are unhappy with the Caverns of Chaos. Some of the random characters just aren't very good. Some of the enemy groups are just brutally effective, and without just the right hero, you're simply out of luck. (Looking at you, Troll Warriors and Death Elementals.) An idea was floated in the World chatroom today, the idea of introducing Quick Draft to the Caverns of Chaos. Things would still be left up to chance; maybe the needed cards wouldn't appear, maybe your strategy just wouldn't hold up under pressure. It would introduce an element of freedom, however, and that might make the whole experience more enjoyable. Now, I'm not advocating that the Caverns of Chaos be changed. I kinda like them, myself. But a Quick Draft version of the Caverns of Chaos would be interesting, at the very least. Maybe the monster generation could be made more unforgiving to compensate for the player's freedom, or the rewards made lesser, or the adventure take longer to complete. If such an adventure were to be made, I think it'd be fun to work the word 'draft' into the title, somehow. The Drafty Depths of Disorder, or something. =P So yeah. Thoughts?
