I think that the forums are too simplified at the moment. For example the main category "Card Hunter Chat, Gameplay, and Strategy" covers a lot of different topics and is a bit cluttered. Right not it's manageable but when more people find the game, it's going to be a mess. Would it be possible to have more main categories and maybe some subcategories? Below is a crude example. Current system Announcements Card Hunter Chat, Gameplay, and Strategy Feedback and Suggestions Custom Games Off-Topic Bugs Support Testing Improved (?) system (with subcategories) Announcements Card Hunter General Chat Single Player Gameplay and Strategy -> No party deaths-> 1 HP strategy-> Drawback card-> etc.Multiplayer Gameplay and Strategy -> Deckbuilding-> etc.Items and Cards Feedback and Suggestions Custom Games Off-Topic Bugs Support Testing ------------------------------------------------------------ So what I did was split "Card Hunter Chat, Gameplay, and Strategy" into 3 with some subcategories thrown into the mix. I also think some kind of "Items and Cards" category could be useful. This is just a really quick brainstorming idea. It could of course make things a bit more complex so it might not be what you guys are looking for but I posted it anyways.
I usually appreciate it when a game provides a specific "put your questions here" section, as well. Making tons of question threads about noob stuff floods the gameplay sections, and usually just leaves me reluctant to ask my own questions (who wants to be that guy, right?). However, anytime I start playing a new game, it's "Ask anything game related here" forum section is extremely inviting, while staying comfortably out of the way of the conversations on strategy and important stuff. Right now, when I feel my question is too dumb to warrant anyone's real attention, I've been just employing the off topic section, but I'm not really being off topic... just dumb. From experience, I know that these sorts of sections also make it really easy for the moderators to find folks who need help. Class sections really help in a game like this, too.
Not sure we'd need that many sub categories. But maybe a dedicated single and multiplayer forums could be a good idea.
I agree with Scared Little Girl's idea, I think it would make it a lot easier for people to find things. Also, more important if the playerbase ever grows
It has gotten a little unwieldy, but that's too many sub-categories. I'll think about splitting it up however.
