I like the minimise the game while waiting for a match to start, and sometimes while waiting for my opponent to have their turn. Unfortunately, when the game is in full screen mode, there is no minimise button and so it's a little bit awkward. (I have either take it out of full screen mode and then minimise, or reach for a keyboard shortcut.) I'd much prefer to use full screen mode all the time; but I often end up just playing in windowed mode because of the lack of minimise button.
Not sure I've ever seen a game that offered that, but perhaps I'm misunderstanding Just remember that you can use ALT-ENTER (in Windows) to switch between full screen and minimized, ESC to exit full screen if it's toggled, or ALT-TAB to swap to a different program. If for some reason you're entirely opposed to keyboard shortcuts, maybe you could make a case for why a button is more useful to you? It seems an unnecessary effort for the devs to me, as is
You're right that it's pretty rare for games to have a minimise button. I know I've played a few that have it, but the only one that comes to mind is Guild Wars. It's also rare for games to have a dedicated button for toggling full screen mode - which Card Hunter has. I'm not really opposed to keyboard shortcuts. Keyboard shortcuts are great if you're using the keyboard. But I typically play Card Hunter without using the keyboard, and so the shortcuts aren't very useful. Anyway, it's obviously not really a big deal. I'd personally like to have the minimise button - and so I suggested it. But I'm content enough to just play the game in a maximised window instead of full screen.
I can't actually get ALT-ENTER to work anymore, so I don't even know. Maybe I imagined it working for CH in the first place. And I'm still just confused why two clicks- windowed and then minimize- is much more effort than one; But, well, I can't argue personal perspectives on what appeals, we all have our own quirks I actually like poking people on things like this to try and convince them to argue their point more convincingly, not for the sake of dissuading them, so don't think I was trying to argue against your suggestion And huh, yeah, I guess you don't need keyboard for the game, and especially if you're using a tablet.. That is a valid consideration! I still don't think it merits dev attention so far, but I'm definitely seeing why it's useful now
Make a macro for one of your mouse buttons you don't normally use. Bind it to mimic that of pressing escape.
