So I was wondering if such a thing is possible - you press that button and for the next X hours your matches, regardless of whether you win or lose, won't change the guild rank. This way we could use ranked to practice, check out a new idea, etc. All while not putting our contribution at risk, for a stress-free fun which is decktesting in Card Hunter! I also think this is something that would be little to no prone to exploiting, so... yeah, why not.
Isn't this what casual matches are for? I can understand if the lack of casual opponents is a problem, but that's what guild-mates are for! It's interesting, but how often could one use it? Would there be 'cool-down' periods? When can I use it; when I enter the multiplayer lobby, before seeing who is online? Or can I just pick the moment when to do so? Some thoughts to help flesh out your idea.
I like the idea Haters might say that if it's near the end of month and our guild is 1st with a nice lead, we should tick that and enjoy our 1st place. I say it's far worse if people in this position instead stop playing because they don't want to risk their guild's rating.
Ranked environment is pretty unique, but tied to the guilds. I'm against individual, but for global intermissions, i think i brought up a casual friday elsewhere. Or delay the new season's start 3 days into the month. Then again you're not supposed to feel in need of relief from your guild affiliation.
@Farbs would probably need to make a special scenario to achieve this. It might help guilds with a mix of casual/competitive players do a little better in the monthly seasons.
I talked with Lucky Dice about this in a DM, and unfortunately it's not going to happen. Cool ideas are cool though, so keep 'em coming!
