Which Trading Card and Tabletop games have you played in the past or continue to play now?

    Which is your Favorite?

What do you like the most about those games?

I'll start with my answer as I'm sure it's the popular one, I've always loved Magic The Gathering. The lore and art are an obvious draw, but the mechanics are just as wonderful. I love the way rules are introduced with each subsequent set and how they've embraced the digital market.

Yugioh was another one I played around with for better or for worse, I can imagine the popularity drops off a bit here. It had a cartoon! I was young and naive!

Warhammer both fantasy and 40k have seemed awesome but at the same time awesomely complex, awesomely expensive, and awesomely hard to paint. With Blood Bowl on the PC I got a taste of how it might play, but I think I've spent the most time in the tutorial.

    Anyway, what about you guys?

I play a lot board games these days. In the past I played Magic.
My Warhammer experience has all been on the PC, my favorites being "shadow of the horned rat" and "dark omen".

It does look like sushi, but I would not of guessed it.

Warhammer 40k, Warhammer, Car Wars, various Civil War stuff. All tabletop action was many years ago.

Back in the days I played Magic alot and have some rare old cards.
Now I prefer non-collectible card\board games like Citadels, Munchkin, Arkham Horror etc.
They're better fits for small companies and people who are not "deep" into boardgames, like girls.

Used to play magic like everyone and their grandmother.
I'm really into dominion at the moment, that game is the ****.

I used to play Magic too, love Illuminati, Muchkin, and i played MageKnight for a while too.
Not playing any tabletop at the moment, just just RPG battles if that counts.

I'll play most games with dice. I used to play Mechwarrior CMG. I play Puerto Rico and Settlers of Catan with friends these days. (But with hardcore competitive mode turned on! We all want to win! Haha!)

The wife and I got into Warhammer Quest for a while, although we had to make most of the items ourselves since it's out of print. Right now we are enjoying the Lord of the Rings: LCG and trying to like the new D&D Boardgames. Will be picking up the new adventure pack for LotR:LCG today or tomorrow.

Oh and chess... I wasn't good, but apparently good enough to be the chess club president in high school 15 years ago.

Boardgames? Tons of wargames; yea verily back unto the old SPI / Avalon Hill oldies but goldies.

I am an avid magic the gathering player and heard about this game as a project that Richard Garfield was working on, plus when that kid said lightning bolt i was sold. I've also played a bit of DnD as well as world of darkness(another table top rpg).

I also played a bit of mageknight, and was considering getting into warhammer, if the cost wasn't so high id do it it.

Let's see here. Magic, Illuminati, and Netrunner all got some appreciation years ago. I still have the Netrunner decks, because I felt they had the most impressive attitude, world-building, and overall punch per card. I kept a specific subset of Magic cards--the ones that I thought had the best art, the best quotes, or some sort of personal connection after all that playing. I don't know where the Illuminati ones are anymore! How odd.

Warhammer: 40,000 was the main miniatures game I played. And I never owned a single figure that wasn't plastic. I didn't want to. The idea of carting around far-heavier pieces, with the "reward" being this super-exciting "you get to paint them now!" deal, sounded like something for somebody else: HeroQuest figures were meant for playing as-is, and so were all the paper stand-up pieces of other games. It simply wasn't something I expected to do. And so I played Warhammer 40K with a mix of its own plastic figures, plus HeroQuest figures, plus Space Hulk figures. So there!

I've heard so much good about Pathfinder, but I've never checked into it because I don't really have a group to play with where I am. In the back of the D&D 4e DMG, there are some basic rules to run a DM-less randomized dungeon crawl of sorts - Does Pathfinder support anything like this? I really only have myself and my wife to play with so having something to simply play together is a must.

Edit: And I'm very well aware that 90% of the fun of PnP games is having the freedom and creativity of a DM run game :) We do enjoy just a hack n slash dungeon romp though :p
