cushioning armor only cares about base damage

Cushioning Armor only reduces base damage, not the total damage by a card.

For example, while Anduril is holding Cushing Armor:

To make following the conversation easier, here's the card under debate:
    Laser Thrust

Yeah Laser Thrust is penetrating so Cushioning Armor probably shouldn't be triggering against it at all.

    Why wouldn't it?

Oh, alright Tougness grants immunity, did not read that part. Thought it would just prevent damage like Cushioning Armor.

Because it is not an armour card! - this means it cannot be discarded by acid.
I suggest changing it to a "armour" instead of a "boost"

Cushioning Armor is an armor card...

Ummm, Cushioning Armor is an armor card. Are you thinking of Adaptable (which is also armor and will be discarded by acid, but creates immunity traits that are not armor)?

No? Have you two tested if Cushioning Armor can discarded by acid, if yes then tell me, if no then:
    1. Find an item with Cushioning Armor
    2. Open it and scroll over to Cushioning Armor
    3. Look at the bottom right of the card, it has a star - meaning its a boost card, if it had an armor symbol then it would be classed as an armor card - am I wrong?

Ahhh I see why you're thinking that. First - I have been in a game and lost it due to acid - so yes, play tested confirmed. Second - card type is determined by card color not that lower right symbol. The star often means "provides a boost" but isn't restricted solely to boost cards. In fact the mouse over of the star on cushioning doesn't say "boost" but says "complicated rules." But I can understand your confusion.

I knew that but forgot  - by the card colour, do you mean the card's background colour?

Tested this on the test server (while waiting to log into live).
And yes, the background shows the official card type(s).
