Noticed performance lag a while back (can't remember when), tot it was my connection then. Didn't think too much about it until recently the pattern started emerging. Did a test today. My browser is firefox, only the Card Hunter tab is running Flash. Logged task manager processes after stabilization: Upon login and in Axe and Things, memory stabilized at: FlashPlayerPlugin_11_05_502_146.exe*32 = 4,432K FlashPlayerPlugin_11_05_502_146.exe*32 = 217,468K Did Highway Robbery lvl 1 adv, collected loot, cancelled and went to Axe and Things, memory stabilized at: FlashPlayerPlugin_11_05_502_146.exe*32 = 4,392K FlashPlayerPlugin_11_05_502_146.exe*32 = 265,084K afk chores, came back..no change to above, did another HR lvl 1 adv, collected loop, cancelled and went to Axe and Things again, memory stabilized at: FlashPlayerPlugin_11_05_502_146.exe*32 = 4,392K FlashPlayerPlugin_11_05_502_146.exe*32 = 294,876K At this rate, mems going to run out...devs: Send me a PM if you need a dxdiag, thanks. Hope it helps. PS: there are two process for ffox (broker and child) which is why there are two entries...
Yeah, we know that Flash leaks memory. For now, the work around is to close and refresh your client if it gets too chuggy.
Yep, and cheers for the detailed report. If you're keen to see performance data in-game you can use the "stat" command to toggle a little overlay.
I've been up over 850k flash use, the game was getting mighty laggy. An alternative to closing the browser is to use your activity manager to close the largest memory sponge you can see, it's often flash. Or better yet if you're using chrome, go into its internal activity manager(it's under tools) and shutdown flash, which is named and near/at the bottom of the list.
Yeah, we do sweeps occasionally when things get out of hand, but mostly we leave optimisation to later. Given how iterative this project is we'd lose a lot of time in rewrites otherwise.
Just another piece of info for digestion...Did a really long game, going for more than 30 rounds...noticed the memory use and the lag. On a whim, I activated F1 during a card draw phase, then closed the console... The lag was gone, and I checked my task manager.... the memory plummeted down to 200+ MB. This is consistent....opening and closing the console flushed my RAM ? I wasn't expecting it....hmm
