Hello. I was curious. From the stuff I've seen it seem that we have to choose pre-made figures to use in the game (which would take me out of the customization of the D&D RPG aspects of games like these). I was wondering if their would be a way to upload our OWN custom figures to use in game once the Alpha/Beta phase is done. That, or the ability to commission the art team to make some for us for use on our accounts (which I could see as another way to get funding for the game).
For single-player games I think this could be done. When creating a character, there could be an option to upload your own image onto a template to be used in the game- just give us a paper doll we would upload our image to and we adjust size. I mean, from all the screenshots we have been shown, all the tiles Blue Manchu have made so far are just 2d images on a 3d plane. Only downside of this is that we would need backsides of our toons too. Same idea behind choosing our avatars for this forum. Give us a file-size to not exceed and we do the rest. I can however see allowing this option in multiplayer problematic. For example, as SurgeonFish mentioned, it would completely ruin the experience if the 4th member of our p.u.g was a mage who happened to look just like a phallus. Hard to roleplay there lol. I suppose also if people were to upload pictures of licensed characters, copyrights infringements could become a problem. I for one though would love to see this implemented; but for singleplayer not multiplayer.
I would like to see it in multi-player as well (otherwise it defeats the purpose of self expression) and I don't think it should be held back just because of a few pervs abusing it. Perhaps a function where the other members of the group can boot/report folks who do this.
Along with reporting folks that abuse it - there should be a simple blocking feature that would just use the stock models, either globally or per player account.
