Instant Burn Bug

    First contribution here besides posting-for-prizes. Love this game and think I found something that needs fixing in a MP match. Sorry, no screen-shot, but I'll provide a description in the hopes the situation can be easily reproduced.

    The pieces involved were my dwarf wiz (fire mage), enemy elf wiz and enemy human cleric. I had discovered the elf had Resistant Hide so I loaded the human cleric up with persistent fire dmg and fired the Instant Burn at the elf to trigger cleric bbq.

    The bug probably has to do with the interaction between Resistant Hide and Instant Burn. The result was that Instant Burn did not trigger.

    Hope it can be found and fixed. Fire magic is fun!

    Did you have more than one wizard? Instant Burn only triggers cards cast by the same wizard.

    Yup, just one wizard. I was aware of that aspect of Instant Burn and this was definitely not the issue.

    I guess you didn't save the battle log?

    I'll see if I can reproduce the bug later after I'm done with work stuff.

    Tested this in a custom game with @Robauke and we weren't able to reproduce the bug.

    I'm guessing something else happened (a block went annoticed?).

    Verbal drew a card.

    Halerdae plays Impaler.
    Halerdae drew Impaling Stab.
    Tellorzac detonates a fireball. Sic transit eyebrows.
    Resistant Hide reduced damage to Verbal by 4.
    Verbal took 0 Fire damage.
    Tellorzac takes extra damage!
    Tellorzac took 6 Fire damage.
    Officer's Harness reduced damage to Cougar by 1.
    Cougar took 3 Fire damage.
    Enchanted Harness reduced damage to Halerdae by 2.
    Enchanted Harness reduced damage to Halerdae by 2.
    Halerdae took 0 Fire damage.
    Cougar plays Spark Generator.
    Cougar drew a card.
    Robauke passed.
    Tellorzac shoots a cone of magma
    Officer's Harness reduced damage to Cougar by 1.
    Cougar took 1 Fire damage.
    Enchanted Harness reduced damage to Halerdae by 2.
    Halerdae took 0 Fire damage.
    Robauke passed.
    Tellorzac scorches Verbal with instant burn
    Resistant Hide reduced damage to Verbal by 2.
    Verbal took 0 Fire damage.

    Fireball damaged Tellorzac.

    Tellorzac takes extra damage!
    Tellorzac took 4 Fire damage.
    Fireball damaged Halerdae.
    Enchanted Harness reduced damage to Halerdae by 2.
    Halerdae took 0 Fire damage.
    Magma Spray damaged Halerdae.
    Enchanted Harness reduced damage to Halerdae by 2.
    Enchanted Harness reduced damage to Halerdae by 2.
    Halerdae took 0 Fire damage.
    Fireball damaged Cougar.

    Well, thank you very much for checking. Could be that something else happened though the other player confirmed what I saw in chat. We even had a short convo about where I should go to report the bug.

    One good outcome is that I now know how best to document things in the future - save the battle log.

    I don't have a specific reason for thinking things didn't go as you (and your opponent) remember them, just tried making an uneducated guess at what might have happened.

    The devs do need to be able to reproduce any bug in order to properly identify and fix them.

    Regardless, thanks to you for reporting any potential bug. This really helps the dev team and the game as a whole :)

    Copying the Battle Log whenever something strange happens is great help. If you can, do include the Room ID too (this is not strictly required, but helps the devs cross-check logs on the server).
