Congratz. You have the skill and luck to win 4 times, so you should really play PVP. I've failed to get the second one, alas. Tried two times, wasted the immense amount of time, but still won only 1 game each time and didn't even get the epic chests. Looks like I am really a bad player: I didn't want to win, I've just wanted the figurine I had no patience to wait when I should wait, and I've lost even to the greenest of players. Several times I managed to get really strong decks, but had no patience to build up the good hands. I wanted to kill the enemies now and return to the SP campaign. As a result, I've achieved nothing: neither figurine nor SP loot I've had the time to play only 2-8 levels and got just Relic Of St. Darqar and Garalem's Boots (my 2nd). Why on Earth I wanted the damned figurine at all?
I did manage to get both EWPP and EWWW to level 18 yesterday to celebrate Card Hunter's birthday. I had to sit down and plan carefully how to level them up without running out of feasible adventures to complete. The key was to strategically mix +2 and same level adventures for both teams in the right order (+10 or +15 XP first, then +20 to milk the max XP out of the adventures before leveling) to end up with the required number of XP for all characters. I was trying to avoid either having to postpone things to another day or having to play the troll or dragon level 18 adventures. Luckily I managed to do just that. This handful of mostly level 15-18 adventures filled all my playing time available so I have no great feats of lootery to report. Still, I'm happy to have expanded my level 18 SP character roster by 9 characters. Now I have 3x Human Warrior, 3x Dwarf Warrior, 3x Elf Wizard, 3x Human Wizard, 3x Dwarf Wizard and 3x Dwarf Priest (and 3x level 4 Dwarf Wizard for accelerated gold farming). This'll enable me to use many different kinds of parties as circumstances demand. Thanks for the nice birthday presents, Card Hunter and Blue Manchu!
Hey, I've been away from Card Hunter for a while (Played some beta and also completed all the single player content on release, fell off the wagon at some point though). Found my way back a week or so ago, turns out the timing was perfect. I really really wanted the cat wizard figure and was lucky enough to get it. I also got the angry cat figure, so I'm certainly pleased. Took part in 5 leagues and won the last two. Also ran through some single player adventures, didn't have too much time. The few legendaries I got over the weekend are as follows: Brin's Storm Locket Evasion (my 2nd copy, which is a bit funny, since I've now got a total of 9 legendaries) Relic of St. Darqar Staff of the Misanthrope I did get quite a few epics and rares that I'll put to good use as well. Thanks for the presents.
Not you, Bro - the drops sucked. On day 2 I got 2 legendaries, both in the same chest at Ruby Demon Portal. Staff Of The Misanthrope, and yet another Relic Of St. Darqar. I'm overstocked on both.
I played a lot of Card Hunter this past weekend. A lot of Card Hunter. Every once in a while, I'd have to stop playing Card Hunter just so I could play some more Card Hunter*. It consumed me. I actually had dreams about it on Saturday. I woke up panicked that I had missed the entry deadline for one of the Quick Draw leagues. Quick Draw leagues were crazy fun. It took me a while to get the hang of them, but eventually I figured out what I was doing enough to manage both special minis before the weekend was done, which is awesome. After my initial failures I was starting to think I wouldn't be able to get either one. My devotion to Kee-Tanh collection meant I had to neglect the Loot Fairy for the most part, but that didn't seem to be paying out as well as I thought it might, so I didn't really feel the sting of that until I saw the exhaustive list of Legendary items acquired by other people this weekend. Wow. On the other hand, I did manage to pick up 5 Legendary items (bringing my total to 9): Bendolth's Pauldrons Focused Crushing Modak's Unholy Tome Mokk's Boots Glasod's Dark Skull The skull I expect I'll use, the pauldrons I think could be worth trying, and the boots seem like they might be interesting. Since most of my other Legendary items have been things not worth playing, that's actually a really good haul. My only complaint - no cheetah-like elf cleric Kee-Tanh to complete the set? What? What happened to symmetry? * : actually true, since I would stop playing Campaign to join a new Quick Draw league, or stop playing QD league after the fourth game so I could go back to the Campaign to squeeze in another adventure during The Time of the Loot Fairy.
For whatever it's worth, there's obviously going to be some fluctuation in people's drops. But on average, with the Loot Fairy in every adventure, a full campaign run will award about 5.3 legendaries to someone who isn't in the club. So seeing some folks with 2 legendary drops, and others with 10 for the weekend, is totally reasonable variance. I'd say 5 is a pretty good haul, especially if you say you didn't grind that much campaign! Congrats Hope you had fun.
The improvement to Barge has Bendolth's Pauldrons pretty decent at lower levels. Since I like using my bling when I start a new party I've used it lately. Barge is great and the Hide Strips aren't too bad in a pinch if you have no healing and want to keep other cards. I was pleasantly surprised how useful the cards were overall. The skull I also use regularly on vampire priests. (This is all from an SP perspective.)
Lots! One of the really cool things about playing the Quick Draw leagues was that I got to use cards I don't otherwise own or just didn't normally use (though I acquired some of them in loot over the weekend). I threw my first Fireball (aside from the tutorial I suppose), engaged in my first Elven Trickery, Brutally Charged people, experimented briefly with some sort of strange sentient artifact attack/trait, Flash Flooded, Sundering Struck, Feinting Struck, Flashed Pain, Arcane Bursted, Healing Dashed, wore Sparkling Cloth...possibly others. Good times. I also played party compositions I would otherwise not have tried and made crazy characters that are otherwise unlikely or impossible. Over the weekend I ended up more than once with clerics that couldn't do damage, and one even had a copy of Cowardly that was actually an advantage because it just let me cycle through his other cards faster. Fun stuff.
