Many of you are die hard Cardhunters, or fans. I am however new to this, and thus I have a lot of questions and suggestions. In this thread I wanted to propose doing a daily reward for the game. After you sign in and select campaign, it would be in your collection(home). Just like older quests that are available daily, you would have to check in and it could give additional rewards. Any thoughts?
I think the Loot Fairy can already be considered a daily (or twice daily) reward. If you're not sure what that is I've included the link to the Loot Fairy thread which contains Flax's Loot Fairy Tracker page here. I've been doing it daily and have gotten some decent treasure out of it.
Oh I see so the loot fairy randomly picks a campaign, and if you defeat it you will get extra loot. I had no idea, yes this would be what I was thinking, but this is more work *grunt*
Let's not forget that the Loot Fairy is more a reward for people who can comfortably clear (almost) any map than a newbie though.
Good point, and the Loot Fairy targets all maps including the Treasure Hunts people may not have unlocked yet. It does seem fair in its map selection, targeting low-level/non-treasure hunt maps frequently enough.
Although if you haven't cleared all the maps yet, there are plenty of first run gold chests for you to get. Along with the easy gold chests for 1st and 3rd MP win.
I will say I wish I'd known about the Loot Fairy sooner. I fell away from CH for many months and it wasn't until AotA that I came back. New content is new content. I didn't even discover the Loot Fairy until I accidentally found it while leveling up one of my old parties. Wow! Thanks to whomever decided to put that in there. Once my club membership from the new content expired I immediately reupped because of this. I like the randomness. I like the fact that I'm encouraged to play adventures I haven't played since the first time I did them. This has gotten me back in for the foreseeable future. Here's to hoping more content comes out while I'm chasing the Loot Fairy.
Unfortunately LF is only visible if you a) stumble across it in-game b) hear people talking about it in lobby chat c) read the forums d) click on the LF tracker link from any of my CH-related pages (e.g. http://sorcererers.dotq.org) Glad you found it!
I have to agree that Loot Fairy is one of the best ideas the dev have added to keep player retention, especially SP focused player like I am currently. Previously, it feels very demotivating to farm the campaign for items. Once the campaign is completed and a sizable portion of easy quest completed, the item hunt halt to a crawl. Completing a module takes too long for the rewards given. (I'm aware that many players do farm the SP campaign quite extensively with fast build, and reap quite the appropriate reward, but not everyone can afford the time or endure the boredom of such method). For the people who don't have a lot of time, daily rewards are the best thing that keep a player playing, and thus, keep paying the subscription. Before LF, MP gold chests at 1 and 3 wins seems like the most profitable daily thing. What if I'm not that into MP ? Cardstock II every single day of the week until Randimar rolls around. What else can I do ? Ramming my gold into some 1HP quest repeatedly ? Loot Fairy solved the problem perfectly. Everyday you can complete a random adventure. No more boredom. The loot fairy gives great loot, on average an epic every 2 chests, a legendary every 10, not to mention the guaranteed rare for club. Even better than spending on average 6 MP matches to get 2 gold chests. You no longer feels the weight of the massive amount of legendary still unseen. While the fairy is only effective for an experienced player, the newbie player likely wont have problem running out of things to do while making progress on the campaign. And as always, LF still support the hardcore demographics of CH. The 25 hours timer ensure that a dedicated farmer will always be able to catch 2 fairies a day. It even lower the incentive to do the boring and unhealthy thing of mass speed farm adventures. The more adventures you complete, the less chance you will be able to catch the fairy a second time. For what it's worth, LF has managed to keep my subscription going almost indefinitely. Their visibility need to be improved so more players knows about it before they quit for good.
I don't. See sig. And thanks for your tracking page, it makes the chase all that more efficient. @ progammer - Exactly. The reason I stopped playing is the boring grind of SP since that's all I did/do. This injected new life and I'm glad I found the LF on the 2nd to last day of my club membership. I had just finished the new content and if I hadn't found it I would definitely have not re-upped my sub and I may have stopped playing again after a couple weeks.
Welcome back hatchhermit, progammer, and Bandreus! (And other returnees I missed.) It feels good to see you posting again.
I only have a problem with you spamming guild recruiting... :-P Loot Fairy spamming is fine, although be prepared to change the system has Yogscast has brought a ton of trolls in as well that might purposely mess the tracker up. Seeing more people trash talking, spamming nonsense, and doing other belligerent stuff than I've ever seen before. More people is good, but you have to take the good with the bad.
I can IP ban people who mess with the tracker; if they are dedicated enough to get around that, then we can strategize...
