Gender ratios

All the chars I play in Card Hunter are female, partly because I like strong female chars, partly to make up for all the games where I'm forced to play male chars, and partly because I'm so happy to see female chars in practical outfits (well, at least as practical as what their male counterparts are wearing). And now I have enough pizza in my account to buy all the ones I don't have yet (and are currently available).:)

So which ones, exactly, are female? For most figures it's obvious: boobs = female, beard = male. But the undead set don't have either. However, the image filenames are in a standard format: "Race,Class,M/F,Number,A" (I assume B and C are the images for when you have a second or third copy in your party). And according to the filenames, those undead folks are all male. But the filenames also claim this figure is female:
and that sure looks like a beard to me. (Though it could be a fur cloak or something.) Can anyone who has this figure (and the undead ones) check what sound files are used when they die? (I'm not sure if that's 100% accurate either.)

EDIT: Got the sounds from the official Figures.csv

Anyway, the subject line promised ratios. So if all the filenames are correct, this is the gender breakdown for Card Hunter figures:

    Code:
              Male Female M/F
    Dwa War 5 2 2.5
    Dwa Pri 3 2 1.5
    Dwa Wiz 2 4 0.5
    Dwarf 10 8 1.3
    Hum War 4 3 1.3
    Hum Pri 4 4 1.0
    Hum Wiz 3 4 0.8
    Human 11 11 1.0
    Elf War 3 2 1.5
    Elf Pri 3 2 1.5
    Elf Wiz 3 2 1.5
    Elf 9 6 1.5
    Warrior 12 7 1.7
    Priest 10 8 1.3
    Wizard 8 10 0.8
    Limited 4 4 1.0
    Unlimited 26 21 1.2
    Total 30 25 1.2
(Limited figures are the 2 beta exclusive and 6 holiday figures.)

And obviously the next new set needs to be female elves, since we've already had human and dwarf expansions and the undead skew the gender ratio.

Not sure if this is relevant, but I'm pretty sure this is the case:
The vulcan dwarf wizard, who looks very female to me, uses the male soundset.

Boobs, no beard, and filename all say female, so I guess the sounds are not always accurate.

Personally, I don't take the indication of gender in the image resource tag as definitive.

(Actually, for non-wizards I'm usually just too thick to notice because armor makes it hard to tell. Male armor should also have a breastplate, and CH thankfully hasn't gone the route of chainmail bikinis... Thus, if I happened to run through the whole campaign with a Legolas-twin male elf warrior, then noticing a slight variation in file name and armor styling after the fact isn't going to change anything. It's my elf warrior and my story. :D)

Transvestite, maybe? I always play with the sound off, so I'd never have noticed.

I just paid a visit to Cuthbert's with verbose mode on, and found that he currently stocks 59 figures, which is 4 more than I list (and I list 8 that are no longer for sale). Going through them now to see what's new...

The complete list of in-game figures is at http://test.cardhunter.com/data/gameplay/Figures/Figures.csv.

There are actually a bunch (maybe 50% more) of figures that aren't accessible in-game at all, but which you can take a gander at by changing the ID # of the figure on the live server. Color variations are accessible by changing the final letter from A to B or C.

Unfortunately, they're locked with the tag "FIGURE_FOUNDER", so probably just the devs get to play with them. :(

That seems to be the name of the figure set. See also FIGURE_XMAS, FIGURE_HALLOWEEN, and FIGURE_MECHANICAL:

Are you sure? The official figure table says:
I also see that the dwarf warrior I'm asking about uses the male sounds, so I've edited my stats to reflect that. (And the undead figures all use sexless skeleton sounds. Should I leave them out of the stats?)

Updated my stats using neoncat's Figures Spread; added an Other column for undead, slimes, and robots (though one robot clearly has a beard); and changed the final column to Female/Total. "Unlimited" is everything currently for sale. I also spotted a couple more places where a male figure was given a female filename: AotA elf warrior and dark elf wizard.

    Code:
              Male Female Other F/T
    Dwa Pri 3 4 1 0.5
    Dwa War 7 2 1 0.2
    Dwa Wiz 4 4 1 0.4
    Dwarf 14 10 3 0.4

    Hum Pri 5 5 2 0.4
    Hum War 5 4 1 0.4

I think the AotA elf warrior is actually female (and uses the female sound set). It's just hard to tell, which is appropriate and realistic. There's not much visible difference in real life between heavily armored females and males, either.

The dark elf wizard clearly has the full lips of Ben's female figures. Compare it with the thin line mouth of the male elf wizards and you'll see. It's also nice that not every female figure advertises the breast area. The male figures don't use padded pouches or yellow circles around the crotch area, after all.

I'm pretty sure your Legolas figure is a female one , it shares the sound files with the basic female elf wizard .

Though i have to say that the basic female elf warrior is one of the best basic figure imo :D It looks much better than the premium elf warrior figures to me

I agree that boobplates aren't realistic, but without them we'd have even more trouble spotting female elves.
I hadn't paid any attention to lips before, so thanks for pointing that out.
Funny you should mention that, since it's the jade codpiece that convinced me the AotA elf warrior was male.

That's not a codpiece, that's a jade figurine of a Martian. Obviously she's an E. R. Burroughs fan and uses it as a good luck charm in battle. The Tharks are big on war, after all.
