Hi, strangest thing ever happened. I was playing against Neritar today at 19:54 GMT:00 (in case you're able to dig into is somehow). The game was either laggy or he was taking his time (managed to get to round 2 after over 8 minutes). After long inactivity during the opponents turn (or it appear like that at least from my perspective) I could hear card being draw and the movement tiles showed up for him after which instantly a defeat screen showed up saying that I lost due to inactivity. Didn't managed to save the log as everything happened very quickly, I'm happy to post one if it's saved somewhere.
Hi, just noticed this thread. I don't know what exactly happened in this match, but I wasn't inactive. I also spent my time waiting for turn. It's pretty weird.
Looks like that both of us were waiting for the opponents turn. I guess the server had found a problem on my end otherwise I wouldn't be the one loosing. In terms of my connection I used a wireless router but my provider is good (multiplayer fps shooters good). But I guess it's not a simple matter of a one time lag?
This sounds like a battle logic bug so that your client got stuck and then you were assigned the loss. Were there any unusual cards or combinations of cards played just prior to the issue, that you recall?
Don't remember it very we'll. I'm sure I was worried that he had a card draw firestorm deck (all dwarf, one wizard, two priests and was not moving) so I played a whirlwind enemies on round one and then used a combination of move, team move and attacks to kill one of the priest which happened to land close to me. He died on round two but managed to play some card draw card on the wizard before he died, although I was trying to prevent that with a smoke bomb. And that's it really as far as I can remember, I've placed a warrior on a victory square which was covered in smoke and waited for reaction. After several minutes I could hear and see the movement tiles for my opponent to show up and immediately after that I lost due to inactivity.
Something very similar happened to me, I wonder if it is the same issue: 1. I had gotten my opponent in a position where I would very likely win the game on my next move. 2. My opponent then appeared to "timeout" - it showed that it was their turn and their timer was ticking down, but they did not play. I assumed at this point that they were being a sore loser and had closed their browser, so I expected that I would win due to inactivity in 2 minutes. 3. I waited 2 minutes, but the timer kept ticking and I still had not won. At that point I tried to do something in a different browser window and noticed that my internet connection had gone down entirely. (Turns out the modem had gotten turned off accidentally.) 4. After much cursing, I plugged in the modem and hit refresh until I got back into the game, at which point I saw a Defeat message saying I had timed out. In short, I had been the one that actually lost connection, but the client behaved as if it was still my opponent's turn to play and they were the one timing out. It would be nice if the client were enhanced so that it would let you know immediately if you have lost connection. If I had been notified earlier that my connection was not responding, I would have had time to check the modem and restart it in time to rejoin the game, and would not have lost the match.
