The name ("Touch"), the image, and the range all create the expectation of a melee attack, which is incredibly important when you're counting on a hand full of parries to block a Touch Of Death. Alternatively, y'all could distinguish Touch of Death from all the other "touch" melee attacks by changing the art and name... (Now that I know, I won't make the mistake again, but it's a huge "Gotcha sucker!" let-down that could be easily avoided by minor cosmetic changes.)
"Touch of Death" is a sufficiently standard spell name that I wouldn't think it was too much of a problem. It's not called "Raging Bloodsplattering of Death", after all.
Not in the Card Hunter universe. See also: Consuming Touch, Draining Touch, Invigorating Touch, Sapping Touch, Touch Of Pain, and Enervating Touch.
Huh. Yeah, I agree. They might consider having some OTHER card that behaves like the current Touch Of Death, too, just with a name that's more clear.
is my understanding of this card correct: if used by itself it does not deal damage (thus +2 per card does not trigger), but if used in conjunction with +2/+3 fury or some other boosting card, only then it starts working? or is '0 damage' considered being actual damage?
Piotras, I figure it didn't based on the wording - but it does damage based on the hand size of target no matter what. I think rewording it to - "boost damage by 2 for every card in target's hand" would make more sense. Anyone think a reason not to?
I'll mention it in the correct thread, but it doesn't sound correct to me (I'm not a native english speaker so I might be super wrong). EDIT: the confusing text came from this
I actually do like the idea of a close range magic attack. These are priest exclusive and they dont have many access to step attacks so it'd be a very useful option for them when going against parry-heavy enemies. Try playing the compass of xorr quest chain with a priest party and you'd understand what I mean.
Is touch of death blocked with Missile Block? I've never tested that, but since it's magic and not melee, it would seem to be the case and that seems....off.
The joys of cards that can Block Any. ... Unless you're standing on lava, even Block Any won't help you there.
Technically, armor shouldnt block electricity and fire as well. They still do. They also work vs draining spells so...
+1 one this, the first time I encountered this card it cost me a really close game. It was revealed so i felt save moving my low life warrior with 2 parries in for the kill. Of course he died and the match was over so i didn't get a chance to figure out what happened, i thought it was a bug or something.
