Seeing as android tablet actually has proper browsing capabilities. Do you foresee any problem with me playing this game from my tablet? Love the art style and humour (good advert).
I think questions directed at the designers/engineers/site managers are supposed to be filed away in the "Welcome" thread, the rest is for discussion. That being said, I'd love to play from a smartphone or tablet or whatever mobile computing device is in vogue by the time this game is eventually released.
I think Farbs tried out the game on his Android phone a while back and there were a few issues with translating the touch gestures into game input. But I don't really see it being a big technical hurdle. What sort of screen rez do you guys get from your tablets?
The tablets I would be interested in getting this to work on would either be an 8" at 1024x768 or their 10" at 1280x800. Otherwise my phone has 480x854 (Droid 2)
My A500 Iconia is also 1280 x 800. I think you are out of luck with ipad. Stevo Jobs don't believe in supporting modern web technologies. To many free flash based games for apple to not make money off.
Yep, that's right. There are a few technical issues, and a few interface design issues since we use a lot of hover and scroll events which don't directly translate to a touchpad interface, but I'm sure we could figure it all out.
hover events: tap and hold. untap to close hover event (tooltip etc) with scroll stuff i see no problems at all.
1280×800 on my Asus Transformer tablet. From the posts here, seems its quite a standard for Android tablets
1200x800 is going to be quite a bit nicer than the 1024x768 iPad resolution. But we should be able to squeeze it into either I hope.
Personally, having the ability to play the game via my iPad2 would be astounding! Even more so if there was the ability to play a "hot seat" one-shot version with multiple players, similar to a weekend drafting tournament. I know that's probably not lined up in the first release, but then again these initial forums are a place to dream.
With the upcoming Android 2.4 (4.0 for tablets) this should make porting the game to Android easier if done as an app as 2.4 is going to be universal for all android devices (old and new). If done by browser you could institute a button you can press in a corner that converts any clicks to 'hover'. This should make it easy for everyone, and PC users would simply ignore the button (if they wanted to).
