One of my favorite internet personalities came to visit you guys and even did a video! Very good stuff.
Me too. Looks a very interesting game. Great blend of ideas/genre's. Looking forward to trying it out.
Hey. HEY. Look at those dice 1 minute in. You go to your local gaming store to pick up Set 1: Basic Rules, and what comes packaged with it? 1d4, 2d20, and what looks like 1d8 and 1d10. And you expect me to play straight out of the box??
I must say wow ! This is the first time I've seen a complete demo. Pity with the server crash at Greenfang, would have loved to see the rewards. Thumbs up to BM !! Needs monster dialogue...What do you want to know more about? GM font looked garbled even when I was viewing the video in full screen... Also picked up a few minor stuff during the gameplay...which devs should have no problem ironing them out...otherwise, 4/5 stars from me edit: oh yeah, you could make the pillars translucent when mouse-over so that it gives out the effect of an obstacle. hardcore boardgamers know a the diff between a table/trapdoor from top view, not so for newbies
Ooh! Ooh! General link: http://www.cardhunter.com/forum/threads/the-pax-preview-thread-including-game-footage.216/ Video WITH VICTORY: http://www.cardhunter.com/forum/goto/post?id=3005#post-3005 The "rewards," in this case, were real-world loot at the booth. The fabled "Goldleaf Blade" (however the name is spaced) earned halfway through the adventure was billed (in-game) as the final reward, but in a STARTLING TWIST it turned out to just prompt Greenfang's attack. Then later you got a t-shirt or other stuff. Edit: You've brought this up a couple times, and I see your point, but what would you like Gary to do about it? Likely possibilities, such as having him appear in a pop-up to do a voiceover, would seem intrusive. And notice my assumption here: that monster dialogue HAS to come from Gary. Because it does.
Woah ! Thanks a bunch ! This is great, sorry for being such a nub Agreed, pop-up would seem too intrusive. Was hoping for a triggered balloon text above the head of the monster or smthg. If it HAS to come from Gary...then its somewhat limiting. Edit: also, shouldn't there be OTHER gms...Gary for all the single cps is going to be kinda dry, if you get what I mean
There are sneaky undocumented slash commands available in chat, so for instance if the player's second character is Lord Poopenpants, you could type this: /2 I'm hungry! ...and it shows up in the chat box as: Lord Poopenpants: I'm hungry! Similarly, there are /me commands for the player and their characters. For example: /me2 needs food, badly! displays as Lord Poopenpants needs food, badly! and /me is hilarious! displays as Farbs is hilarious! Unfortunately Gary doesn't know how to use these, but they can be fun in multiplayer.
TB is also the reason I've heard about the game. I've watched his video and this game is absolutely amazing. I would really like to participate in beta. The idea behind building a deck with items is absolutely briliant! I like card games, they make you think, but I always sucked at creating good deck, so I was less than average. This game makes oportunity for such bad people like me to actually have fun with playing a card game. I love the graphic style, the only thing I would like to change is the ability to turn off "background", and I mean the table. I'd like to see gamefield only and black background That would be nice to have for an option.
Well, a year or so of rampant publicity, and Card Hunter is looking to get a lot of followers. Now about the actual game . . .
Ya I'm sure TB gave quite a big boost. Glad to hear it to. I love the graphics style of the game and the choice to use an actual game board and cut out figures. So cool, I've been playing CCGs for years now and this looks like a great new direction.
TB tends to have Midas's touch when it comes to games he enjoys. With any luck, others like OMFGcata and Yogscast will pick it up.
Posting here to say that I too was tempted by the Total Biscuit footage and I must say... beautiful looking game. I am extremely excited for this title.
You should make sure that TB gets into the beta, he probably is too busy to be aware of the sign up phase right now so you might need to extend it to him so he can get some great coverage on his channel. If he likes it enough he might co-op with some others and really get the ball going.
Well, if they're gonna "reach out," then there are lots of prominent folks who could be wanted in the beta: Penny Arcade, for one. I'd guess that Blue Manchu has various advertising/previewing ideas on their plate already.
I figure that's what this is about: http://twitpic.com/b2nvhr I wonder how quickly I can establish a blog/website from my current state of nothing, and how big a following it takes to get a custom character. Awesome!
