Can someone explain how did his ember burst hit my mage and warrior?

I know it hits 2 characters but that's not the point!

I'm curious how did he hit me without vision?

 

The "burst" keyword use targeted square as starting point. In this example he can clearly see at least 2 squares that would give his burst vision and range on both your characters.

 

probably because it has burst 1 so he only needs vision to any square adjusted to one of your characters. as far as i understand you can ground target with burst spells.
