I think that the High Mountain Pass is too difficult. I have finished just about every other adventure in the game, except the Yellow Dragon mission, and the High Mountain Pass is just too difficult. I didn't really keep track, but I'm pretty sure that I played it a couple dozen times. I got so frustrated the first time through that I went on to other stuff. Coming back to it, after having nearly beaten the game, I still almost didn't have the cards to beat it, making another half dozen attempts at it. I have not had this level of difficulty with any of the other maps. Also, I understand about using Battlelust to get the goblins cleared out for "free". I also know about using the terrain to avoid the worst of the Ogres. There seem to be a few issues: First, I cannot stand up to the Ogres, who if they catch one of my characters, is almost guaranteed to kill them. Second, the gobbos have almost too good defensive tech. It's pretty typical for them to have 2-3 blocks, including the blocks that reflect my wizard's attacks back on her. The maps aren't particulary interesting either. First, the first battle map is largely irrelevant. I usually wait for the gobbos to cluster around the Ogre, and then try take out ones to trigger battle lust. This means I seldom move out of the bottom third of the map, making the rest a waste. The last map also results in some boring game play. To win that level, I essentially wiped out most of the gobbos, then hid in the middle section, and passed until I drew enough range 2 attacks to kill the ogres which couldn't catch me. I usually don't complain about balance issues, in fact most of the game is interesting and balanced, but this mission seems to need some attention.
Not sure how it looks right now as i don't have access to it but i don't think it was nerfed since last reset and if so i agree completely even with lava stacking it was too hard so with lava nerfed AND not stacking it should be completely and utterly impossible at its lvl without insane luck.
I saw a comment saying that the ogres in Yellow Dragon were made tougher. I don't have any treasure hunts unlocked, but if High Mountain Pass uses the same ogres, that may also be an issue. New deck for Ogre Bruiser, Ogre Bruiser2, Ogre Bruiser3, and Ogre Bruisers: 1x Clumsy 5x Crushing Sweep 1x Mindless Battlerage 3x Muscle Through 1x Obvious Maneuver 2x Powerful Bludgeon 3x Shattering Sweep 3x Sweeping Smash
I believe they are the same ogres. Looks like the same deck.... only High Mountain Pass is a Level 13 adventure, so you're much more limited against them. I actually just beat the Yellow Dragon Ogres in a couple of tries. Challenging, but not insurmountable.
Since both of those weapons require a yellow bolt I don't think it's possible to do that at lvl14. Like I said, I have been able to beat it finally, but not without some serious work. I've been thinking about it some more, and it seems that if the first map's Ogre couldn't attack multiple times, that might be enough to tone it down a bit.
