No, they are not specific to this treasure hunt. The treasure hunt guarantees this item, but you can find it in any other adventure of this level bracket.
    The items are not exclusive.

Um... you can opt to only use 1 or 2 characters in MP. I have...

But the treasure hunt only grants you those items the first time you beat it - after that it's just a normal random drop. All-in-all, that makes the influence of treasure hunts on multi pretty minor - certainly no greater than the existence of a store that sells rares.

Ah. I've been wondering that I just never got around to asking.

    I totally agree with this.
But to take it even further, and this may have been addressed elsewhere, anyways my concern with introducing more classes and races into the game is actually related to the Pizza Chests: it will be increasingly harder to get anything useful for any specific build if the spread is wider. Unless, of course, if they start to specify Chests by class, ie. after you buy a big chest, you have an option to select it to either be a Wizard, Warrior, etc etc Chest (which only makes it more likely, not guaranteed, that there will be useful items for that class in the chest).
I actually like to pay for chests once in a while and opening them for random stuff (I used to be a sucker for opening CCG boosters), but I'd also like that if they made sure that it was worth it.

seriously, regarding this topic, while it seems "unfair" to some (who have more time than money) that you can pay to get purple chests, on the other hand, for someone like me (who have more money than time), it seems unfair that there are people who can afford to spend so much time playing that they can get to the 20 daily wins for the purple chest. It is a balance issue in life itself, and the game addresses it nicely, there is no reason to complain about it one way or the other*.
(*ok 20 wins still seems to me a bit too much, so I can understand a plea to make it less.)

" At the very least, make the last chest as good as the bought chest (2 epics)."

You and i don't tend to agree on a lot but this is one thing i have been pushing for with the devs and i still hope that it might happen.

The Purple PvP chest contains 1 epic and 3 random items. The Purple Pizza chest contains 2 epics and 3 random items.

$50 would get you 1800 pizza, which would be 12 Purple Pizza chests, containing 24 epics and 36 random items. It would take you 24 days of solid PvP to get the same amount of epic loot guaranteed. You would end up with twice as many random items, some of which would be upgraded to uncommon, rare, epic, or legendary, but not at a very significant rate. In my experience, roughly one quarter of all guaranteed epics are actually legendary items.

Since this thread is getting attention again, i want to make it clear that i don't think this game is Pay 2 Win, but good gear is a definite advantage and the Pizza Chests felt too easy compared to the amount of time you otherwise would have to put in.

I would still rather pay about $30 a month for pizza than play for the purple PvP chest even if it was achievable by only 10 wins a day (and it would be the same as a purple pizza chest).
($50 a month would be too much in any case, except maybe when starting the game.)

I wouldn't have the time or energy to get the purple chest on anything close to a regular basis. But i still feel like there is little reason not to have it be like that its just a nice pat on the back and lets people feel like they earned pizza which increases happiness for some people im sure.

One great thing about multiplayer for a brand new player is getting to be level 18 and equip all the gear you find (reverse of that is of course that is SUCKS going back to campaign and not being able to use the "big boy toys" with power token requirements...).

A similar "Oh, THIS is what the game offers!" feel could be achieved if there was a PvP option where you had all items available, as well as max level characters. Make it a 1 hour "who can get the most points" event once a day or something if you must. But it would be pretty nice to be able to try out random items (like ones which are available in your rare shop) before you acquire them yourself, and such an MP arena would have absolutely the most fair playing field possible: everyone has everything. Could do well to highlight especially broken card combinations (if 80% of the community always runs the same setup in this arena... something needs changed to make a counter to that setup possible)

I think this entire thread can be summed up to "Some beta-testers are afraid the game has the potential to become pay-2-win. Some think this is nonsense. However, all beta-testers agree that the 20 wins for a epic chest is ridiculous". I agree with the latter. And I think changing the latter might defuse some people's (in my opinion, misplaced) concerns that the game can become pay-2-win.

Absolutely. I just stopped repeating myself because the matter is likely still under revision.

    But here, a quote:
I say that players should be better at metacognition and planning: they should understand that not every game on planet Earth is the same, and there are other ways to think about things. Suppose you hit 20 wins regularly: then what? You just sat around and had no reward system for your next 30 wins, while you waited for the 20-win-sequence reset? It's easy to understand the idea of a "pot of gold" system.

The for-pay Epic chest, however, may be it's own problem. I suspect that the matter is also still under revision.

I did not mean to speak for everyone, I was merely generalizing and you were all caught up in it. Sorry
