True. Using elo as a pay 2 win measurement totally skews things because people can just beat on Gary. OP just means better than other options. OP cards will be chosen over their counterparts more often than not because of their superiority. Whether or not the devs want OP cards in their game is another issue. Perhaps they like having a few OP cards here and there just to spice things up. Although I can spot an OP ability a mile away because I've played too many video games, it can still be part of game design for there to be OP abilities. Thank you for your honesty. I also am part of the card hunter club. It by far and away seems to me to have the best pay2win value, since you get guaranteed epics/rares on all of those gold chests you open in single player for the first play through of a campaign. Regardless I suspect that most of the top players have paid in some form or another.
Yeah but are they top players because they've paid or do they pay because they enjoy the game enough to become top players?
Rather interesting definition. Sound much more like good than OP. Way I learned it, OverPowered means either that something is ALWAYS better than other options, or that opponent doesn't have viable ways to deal with it. Then again, as all cards come in sets of 3 or more, single cards doesn't matter that much as long as items aren't too much out of balance.
How many of those exist? I'm not seeing guaranteed rares or epics in any of the level 10-13 modules. Final chests the first time I played each of these modules: (+club reward) Arena Finals (lv 9): 2 common, 2 uncommon (uncommon) Viscous Tombs (lv 10): 1 common, 1 uncommon, 2 rare (uncommon) Garnet Portal (lv 10): 1 common, 4 uncommon (uncommon) Cockroaches (lv 10): 2 common, 2 uncommon (uncommon) Goblin Woods (lv 11): 1 common, 3 uncommon (uncommon) Pools of Slime (lv 11): 1 common, 3 uncommon (uncommon) Tvericus (lv 12): 2 common, 2 uncommon (uncommon) Tree Forts (lv 12): 2 common, 1 rare, 1 epic (uncommon) Alet Zhav (lv 13): 4 uncommon (epic) Shrine Astral (lv 13): 2 common, 2 uncommon (uncommon) It's the gold chests in MP that give tons of epics and legendaries (with and without club membership), which is why MP is my first priority every day even though I don't really like it.
That depends completely on where you draw the line for top players. I have seen plenty of f2p games with terrible people at the top and i mean top 5 or top 10 but those games have massive problems with p2w. I have also seen other f2p games where players who are bad are never seen in the top 30% of the population despite having the best cards because they simply are not good enough. Also lets try to keep the conversation about p2w at the very least.
