Hey guys I just got into the beta and I'm enjoying it so far but I have a question: Do I need to finish singleplayer to get enough good cards to be competitive in multiplayer? Or is your multiplayer deck entirely separate? Thanks

Multiplayer and single player item pools are the same. You can win cards playing in multiplayer as well. As for being "competitive" you aren't likely to get to the top ranks without getting some more cards, but you should have a fair chance to win your multiplayer games based on your ranking.

If you wait to do MP until the tutorial leads you to, you will get a set of gear that is at least somewhat competitive at mid level MP.

I just got cleared for MP. How well does the matching system do for skill level? Is it pretty brutal?

Your first match is guaranteed against the ai, then it's harder to say. Don't think it's that brutal to begin with. Only one way to find out...

It doesn't really get brutal until you're around rank 1200, then there's a chance you might have to fight against "Mom" and she has some pretty mean decks. The fact that everyone is level 18 is a pretty strong equalizer.

AI generally easy. Mom is an exception. I'd win against her with my normal deck if I didn't keep getting killed by 40 damage shots!

Honestly, mom seems pretty weak to wizards. I've beaten her every time, despite some of the unfair cards she uses. (Seriously, she has a Block card with Keep , and it succeeds on a 4+)

try some fire walls + telekinesis + stone walls + path of knives + winds of war. O yeah....trust me....those are some great combos.
