It didn't really happen to me yet, but over the course of time eventually it will happen to me, you and even your neighbour. Accidentally selling an item you actually wanted to keep, and now you have to buy it back at 20x the price. This is my solution to this issue, I think it's simple and effective. When right clicking an item, an option to "lock" your item is revealed (in this case "MY PRECIOUS") If the item is locked, whenever visiting a shop the item will be greyed out and can not be sold. You can of course right click the item in the shop and remove the checkmark to then sell the item. On top of preventing players from selling accidentally, it would also speed up the process of selling unwanted trash. Simply lock the phat lewt the moment you receive it, and proceed to sell everything in the shop that is not greyed out. I know there is a solution in the making that will stop you from selling equipped items in the shop. But since most players swap gear around between adventures i think my suggestion does a better job of preventing players from selling items they plan on using. (if the players are aware of the option that is) I did make a suggestion about this as a comment in another thread. But i think it deserved its own thread. On top of this suggestion a buyback function would be good too, do not change the value of items sold to the shop before you leave the shop. Combined with above suggestion, selling trash would be foolproof (almost)
Psh. I refuse to ever make this mistake. Concerning your suggestion, though, I like it. The thought of 'locking' my gear seems nice.
That, or having a 'buyback' feature where you can buy back any items you have just sold for the same price as what you got for it.
Just wanted to bump this as a reminder. I sold a nice epic today because i had been hopping in and out of my keep and the shops while building a new deck and forgot where i was. Grr.
