The chat log in the pvp waiting area can be pretty hard to follow. I'd like to see two things: 1. A timestamp. All the cool chat clients do it, and I find now that I have one on my primary (pidgin) it annoys me when they're not there. 2. I think you should remove the 'entered the room' and 'left the room' messages. I understand that in some ways they are useful, but when the room is even moderately busy (and we're in beta and there just isn't that many people) it completely overwhelms the chat. The only times I've felt it would be useful to tell the room goodbye is when I get sucked into a game when I'm chatting, so maybe rather than posting a message any time any player leaves, just post game start notices to chat? Like "Match Powercow vs. SteveRowland has begun". Still though, in a busy room that will overwhelm the chat. At least it would be moderately interesting though. In addition, the bloop is the only reason I ever know my opponent is talking to me in a game, and it can be hard to find. Maybe there should be a log tab and a chat tab that aren't the same thing?
There's certainly room for improvement. My suggestion would be that Chat would keep log in background when in match. Currently it seem to reset every time you enter the lobby. I would love to see what has been said when I'm in match. Other option is to allow people to see and chat in lobby while in match. While still showing all messages when not in match.
Is it alright to add battle chat suggestions here too? I would find it very useful if I could extend the length of the battle log, and player text needs to stand out above all of the game's messages. It is so easy to miss what my opponent says. Or is this possible already and I just haven't figured it out? Edit: I just noticed there is already a topic for the battle log chatbox, lol. Oh well.
Unlucky Scarecrow: I don't suppose you could link it? I'd like to suggest that they make player chat text color red (or whatever) in the battle log so that we can actually SEE it.
I really miss chatting & deckbuilding at the same time. I ussually pick deckbuilding and it effectively stops me from socialising at all. When chatting, sometimes I want to say someting about a card and maybe look it up, but that means I'll lose part of the conversation.
