I couldn't find a thread directly addressing this(it was briefly mentioned in another) so here we go... Almost every time I start a battle, the "Begin Battle!" splash image lags quite a bit. The lag stops once all character pieces are on the board. I haven't experienced any other lag in the game so far. This is happening to others, as well. Yeah, I reported it when we tested the build on the test server - wasn't sure it was just me either, but it seems latest patch added that splash lag somehow (and only on the start one).
Yep, I also have minor lag at the start of my first match. But only first battle after I login, later ones load just fine.
It's intermittent for me. I can never predict if it's going to happen or not. Very annoying when it happens in multiplayer and I'm supposed to go first because my timer is counting down while I'm lagging.
Started since last two patches (including the minor one with the gold bug). Always happens for me, and much more pronounced in the single player than the multi-player. EDIT: Also want to comment on what Proxiehunter has said about timer going down during animation. Bugs me too that the player who goes first for a turn has to deal with a lot of time lost due to dealing animations. There's also times when the game "lags" where I don't have control but my timer continues to go down. Usually happens when someone casts Leadership and my game hangs for a long time while the client updates all the card drawing animations at once. I end up losing about a minute of time.
This keeps happening to me too and has only started occuring recently, say within the last week or so.
I'll just toss in: I see this for every single battle, no matter the circumstances. I thought the stuttering might have occurred during card draw, but that's not true: with a lot of figures being dropped on the board, the stutter will happen completely before card draw. This suggests it has to do with some start-of-match behind-the-scenes maintenance and not anything the player can see.
Just wanna add that the game hangs for a few seconds after I click 'Leaderboards'. I thought maybe it's related to the 'Begin Battle!' lag. Not sure if it's happening to others.
That's unrelated. It's happening because the leaderboard is getting very long. I need to break it into parts during load.
