This idea cropped up in another thread and I thought it was important enough to deserve one of its own. I really think this is something this game really needs before it is officially released, it would help both new and seasoned players, and work with the illusion of playing the game with Gary.
Yeah, this isn't the only time people have gone "Hey, isn't there somewhere I can look up stuff?" There IS an in-game Help page: go to "Menu," then click "Help," and . . . admire the blank page before you! There used to be stuff there, but it was rather outdated, and seems to have been erased. For now, the wiki is a great resource: but hopefully a full rulebook will be typed into the game before the end of beta.
".@Manb0t - Ripped out the old help system and replaced with link to help web page." - dated 12 hours ago. Looks like something.
Yeah I should have guessed that this wasn't the first time this idea had been brought up. Clicking on the menu and going to a different webpage really takes you out of the game though, thats why I really like Pengw1n's idea. I know that everyone playing this game is connected to the internet, so its not that inconvenient to just go to another webpage to see the rules, but I'll say it again it really ruins the immersion and that is important to consider.
Yeah, having the rules in game would be nice - then again, having them outside of the game wouldn't hurt either, for those times you don't have access to the game but need to check up on something. In the best of worlds, maybe we can have both?
