Hey Cardhunters, I dont get it how to login to the http://sorcererers.dotq.org/loot-fairy.php but I really like you effort and wanted to give something back. I today found that the loot fairy is abscent in the Shrine of the Astral Guardians and In the Belly of the Beast but with http://sorcererers.dotq.org/patrol I only get an onerror.html
If you don't have a password for the tracker, PM Flaxative and ask for one. (He built it, and owns the site it's on.) You can also post your findings on world chat. I often forget to check it while I'm hunting, but many of the chat mods can update the tracker. Thanks for hunting!

@Flaxative : Fairy tracker is having server problems (error 502 bad gateway). LF currently at The Metallic Monstrosity EDIT: And by the time I posted that the server came back up.
Is it just me and problems on my side (which it obviously isn't because other players in-game mentioned the same results) or is the tracker unavailable for everyone?

Would actually love to offload LF tracker. It has never been an official part of the game, and is not something I did for Blue Manchu (nor, now, for TKOU) but a volunteer effort dating back to before I became a dev. The LF tracker could be considerably better than it is but I do not have the time to improve it, nor really to process the number of incoming patrol requests I get. I don't know what the best process is here, but if you or someone else want to maintain an LF tracker I'd happily provide my code. (Though probably you'd want to build it differently as it's... an old, amateur effort, hah.)
@Knights and Flaxative: See below, I've got two things to mention. Knights: I would love to integrate a new Loot Fairy Tracker and some other features I've been thinking about to have access to World Chat. Would it be possible to get some sort of UI to do that? If there's a log file on the server the has the content, providing that UI could be as simple as: #!/bin/tcsh while ( 1 ) tail -f -n 300 <name-of-logfile> | blow -p 5555 sleep 5 # To prevent risk of overtaxing the server end # Notes: I forget how to do an infinite loop in sh, but it should be easy. # Suck/blow are short open-source programs.... I can find them for you. On Unix, it would be as simple as the above. On M$-Windows, you could install cygwin, a free "Unix Emulator" for M$-Windows(*) and set the above to be part-of (or all-of) the startup files. Flaxative: We'll probably PM you about the Tracker sometime "soon" (except we're "slow" so "soon" might be a day or weeks), but for starters, could you let us know what the tracker is written in? Either post here or PM, your choice. If Knights takes me up on the above, (and the two conditions are below true) we'd probably only want to know the Usernames (not neccasarily the passwords) of the people who are already trusted to update it. If those conditions aren't true... I'll give my plan more thought... Condtion 0: I can get some interface like the one described to Knights above. Condition 1: Most LF-tracker usernames match the CH usernames. (Actually this is optional) (**) Condition 2: Either the bolding of the Usernames in the log is preserved somehow (I can parse whatever characters denote it) or the /emote command now always forces "says" after your name, as it I was suprised to see it do when I tested it just now. (**) * I write "M$-Windows" because I don't like Microsoft, and because "Windows" is a term better reserved for X-windows, which significantly predates M$-Windows. ** - I "obviously" have some plan(s) to discourage abuse that I'm not going to mention publicly. You gotta keep the trouble-makers guessing of course (so don't assume I'm overlooking details I might have omitted intentonally.) Note: I'm only really at my peak concentration a few times a month, and I haven't had one of those since the update, so maybe I can comment "better" later.
The LF tracker is currently PHP + MySQL. (OFC the countdown clock is javascript, and there's a cron job on the server that resets the tracker when the LF moves.) Here's the real shocker - the LF patrol actually only has one user, "patrol" Yall been sharing one set of credentials this whole time lol I also think it's a safe bet that TKOU will not do anything to grant access to world chat outside the client.
Also, just putting this out there, but pending any improvements to the way the LF works (or any other economy shifts in-game, which Sir Martin has said we're looking at), there's no reason there needs to be just one LF tracker or that it has to use my code. Anyone could make one with the features they want
I thought everybody knew this. Same user, same password. Maybe one day I'll be able to play this game again and have a reason log into the tracker once more.
We're trying to get the beta version of the new tracker ready as I type this, so Anyone see Flax? Getting the code he offered would help. (I didn't screenshot on my first run-through, so for now I'm just grabbing the intro page and the first map for each. If someone else wants to contribute the other map screenshots, let us know. I've never used imgur to capture stuff, but we can pull from there if someone posts there.) Thanks everyone! We hope this will be well received! (And hope we get it working ok of course.) This is intended as a pre-release teaser! But looks like maybe it'll be a few days (or a week or whatever after all.) Oh... Sir Vesa already PM'ed at least one feature he'd like to see. Many modules are direct sequels to other modules, so there will be spoilers on the covers. Maybe just have a link to the wiki page instead? And hopefully someone will figure out how to update the wiki someday....
