Now that Loot & Legends is being shut down, are there plans for an official Card Hunter for mobile app?
I would be very surprised seeing another Card Hunter mobile app, after one failure (profit-wise, that is).
Two years are up. Are you planning to lose your players who use Linux, (that includes Chromebook users)? Perhaps maybe open steam client up for steam OS users, and perhaps add to google play? Maybe you have a HTML5 client in the works? There are those of us who would like to know.
See the "Card Hunter Survival" thread. The Steam version uses Flash thus is a moot point, and there is no HTML5 client in the works; CH has run its course, but so far, BM has no intention to close the servers (unless, I imagine, the game physically can no longer run at some point ~shrug~).
Since the Flash version of Cardhunter no longer accepts Paypal, there should be a way to go to the website and click on a webpage that will allow you to use Paypal or a Credit Card to put Pizza (and/or Bundles) onto your Account. Unless Paypal was removed from the Flash version not due to technical problems, but rather the expectation that Flash was going to stop working; in that event, Paypal within the game should be re-enabled. I'm still totally annoyed that Steam intentionally pushed updates onto XP and Vista that they know would break things for both of those OS'es. (They warned people before they did it.) Because of that any lessor reasons, I'm hesitent to recommend Steam to anyone even though I mostly use it myself.
BTW... I don't believe CH works on Kongregate anymore, even though many other games still do. Was it intentionally removed by Blue Manchu in anticipation of the allegedly Flash shutoff? I that was the only reason, I'm guessing it should be restored. If nothing else, it gives the game publicity. Shortly before it disappeared from Kongregate, Kongregate was (possibly by chance) promoting Cardhunter in the first/main page. It listed a bunch of possibly pseudo-random game-categories, "card games" was on that first-page list, and Cardhunter was at the top of the category.
I haven't noticed it doing that, but I used to host a server/subscription service for a popular Chess website. The software was "quietly" having everyone sending out little updates/pings to every other player frequently. So if there were 401 players, that was 160,000-ish connections to maintain, and the server was using Porn-levels of bandwidth. If Cardhunter does in fact have this problem (again, I don't know if it does) it should be fixed by not having users send unneeded information to all other users frequently. The Multiplayer screen that shows who's on that screen should make a list of who on that menu, and send the list to each person at that menu, rather than everyone-tell-everyone. The rest of interactions should be ok, as people rarely communicate with too many other people. But again, I don't know if Cardhunter has that problem or not. I've always had a good connection and have never seen a problem. On the other hand, a friend (and sometimes myself) often play on a slow XP machine either by Flash or circumventing Steam's attempted shutoff if Steam was preinstalled before then. Aside from loading all the image in info for all the items when you even an adventure, store, game or keep, the animations for Firestorm and the like can run exceedingly slow. It would be nice if either all damage effects or all "mass" effects (firestorm, lava, Flash of Agony, etcetera. The problem is that the Flash animation effects on those machines run painfully slowly so telling the effects to run faster just doesn't do anything. They have to be either tolerated or, as I'm suggestion, it would be nice if there was a way to turn them off selectively.
