So called "dice roll hack"?? Does that exist?

I have just played a ranked game. (won it 999(+27) was my result rating) In the game I have been accused of using "dice roll hack" to spin the dice in my favour. But I wasn't.

I could think of two major reasons for why he accused me of using it.
1. Most of the dice rolls were in my favour. I say most because he did get a 6 on his rocket dash.
2. Trying to waste my time limit to win. It takes some time to type to him, I don't think I'm a slow typer. On ten fast fingers test I got

Now that aside. Does "dice roll hack" in card hunter exist? I think the dice rolls are handled by the server so it would be impossible to change the outcome unless you literally hack their servers. I don't know what do you think?

There are kids who haven't been taught about probability, a little tolerance goes a long way. Btw, this thread serves no purpose.

You did not have to post the chatlog with names and everything. The OP was fine, the 2nd post wasn't and should have been moderated (@Scarponi or @Pengw1n). Plus you just outright called him names.

No, it does not exist. The dice rolls are handled by the server. There is nothing a player can do to change them. There is no cheating. There is just randomness.

 

You mean the point isn't to display my photoshopping skills in an effort to de-stress over the past two weeks of minimally moderated game trolls?

And short of any elements in the quoted chatlog, there was certainly no name-calling until you started antagonizing the conversation [which I was trying to divert toward humor].

I'm not saying you intentionally or notably did anything problematic, I'm just saying that as far as 'doesn't serve a purpose' goes, none of your comments have thus far served one either, to my perceptions.

After all, it'd been made pretty clear to me- nevermind how it's phrased the same way in the forum rules- that you're supposed to report people you believe are breaking forum rules, rather than engage them. [Likewise, if you think the rules should be changed or clarified, that feels like it'd be better suited for a new thread.]

No it's pseudo random, it is impossible to make anything truly random.

 

Randomness is randomness. Pseudo, truly, for all intents and purposes in the context we're talking about here, it's randomness that determined the dice rolls that displeased a player, not someone cheating. Arguing about the technical details just muddies the issue.

Did you know most physical dice used in e.g. in PnP RPGs produce skewed distributions? It has been shown that only sharp-edged new dice produce truly random results. Like the ones they use in casinos. All rounded-corner dice are basically cheating.

 

Forget corners, you have the fact that all standard tabletop dice have imbalances in weight, and that dice are easily manipulated by hand if you know how.

And yep. Even using hashed randomizations, it's still random because the initial hash was picked randomly, and applies based on the order of actions you yourself choose.
