    @Vholes - Great item!
I thought of one along somewhat similar lines that included both Vicious Thrust and Anvil Strike:

Vicious Striking Staff, Level 11, (minortoken)(minortoken), Rare
[IMG] [IMG] [IMG] [IMG] [IMG] [IMG]

All these cards are underplayed by wizards due to poor itemization, which is to say, they don't have any. This is clearly an oversight, because they are so amazingly cheap for wizards. However, I'm sure Flax would disqualify it over some silly "only request cards already on existing items of the requested slot" rules piffle. Pity, that.

I like the creativity and effort on Vholes' design I just can't see it ever making it into the game.

@Vholes design is the gold standard of what this game needs. Not only does it help with the critical underitemization of Vicious Thrust, but it helps with ensuring the gaming community has good access to Powerful Hack as well. Powerful Hack is a fascinatingly complex card that leads to a large amount of interesting strategies and counterplay, and our meta would be better off for having a reliable source of it. It is that this item successfully synergizes both needs - the need for better access to Vicious Thrust and Powerful Hack as well - that makes it a supremely amazing submission.

Perfect balance, 10/10, would chop again.

I would be wary about using Ice Bolts because it was a enemy only card before AA3.

I chose Ice Bolt since the only item with it was Spritastrophe and it was the reject round.

Spritastrophe included Ice Bolts as the one monster only card for it.

Given that your item is definitely better itemization than the one existing source of Ice Bolts for players, that's fine logic! That said, Spritastrophe was originally added to the game as a winner in the Halloween AA contest, and its since been heavily implied that the monster cards that made it on to items from that contest are still viewed as monster-only cards with singular exceptions, rather than being re-classified as player cards. I don't think its wrong to put up this item - hell, I won an AA with an item that flagrantly broke the rules (Tasty, Tasty Staff) - but be aware that your item is likely to be judged to a much more exacting standard (which is to say, Flax has to REALLY like it).

I think even if ice-bolts wasn't a monster card, your staff is too powerful.

This staff would be awesome with Supercooled Laser. But maybe it needs a catchier name?

Now I'm truly torn. I don't know if I should go with my older submission,
Bewlin's Baffling Blade / Slippery Spatha
    [IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG]

    or the newer one,
    Eternal Darkness
    [IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG]

I'm actually sticking to the older one for now, but making a triple Soothing Darkness item is tempting. My reservations for it are that it's a legendary item (and thus it won't really go far in terms of making the itemization better) and perhaps Soothing Darkness is weak by design and not by itemization, especially considering that cards like Force Field and Healing Beacon are in the game.

If anyone's going for a double Enchanted Mail item, I would recommend:

    Soulbound Mantle
    [IMG][IMG][IMG]

    or

    Hawlic's Moving Castle
    [IMG][IMG][IMG]

since Superstitious is by far thematically stronger (though the item's competing with Deathcurse Mail) and Trip seems quite funny. If someone's going to use this item they would probably want to commit to it fully and run Nasrum's Moccasins or the like anyway. Plus, isn't this a fancy (totally legal) decklist? Imagine pairing this with a Gene Therapy + Purging Burst priest!

I like Eternal Darkness. Its a fun item, it makes sense, and it has a strong theme. I say go for it!

@Deepweed, I agree with Inky except for one thing. Eternal Darkness is not only Legendary but double major. Since Aloyzo's looking for either resubmissions or bringing an enjoyed card to a viably playable item, I don't believe this matches either -- unless someone intends to do something wacky like load a vampire up with one of these as team support, and bring a chronomancer to dish out extra heals. As always, I could be totally wrong; in this case, Mr. fingers does have a lot more experience and skill than I.

I agree with all points. That is why I'm reluctant. I considered making it a major/minor, but then that will allow far too many copies of Soothing Darkness. I also considered a major/minor with 2 copies only, but then items like Lattimore's Relic are comparable and thus it will go absolutely nowhere in terms of improving itemization. I like the theme and everything, but I imagine if it does get in the game I would have major difficulty in making a viable build with it. In this regard, the unassuming Slippery Spatha (name is a work-in-progress) trumps Eternal Darkness, with the only problem being it's not that fun. But AA is for fun. And thus I am in a cleft stick.

If Slippery Spatha would be considered, that would be great since it does allow an alternative strategy for warriors (getting past blocks, but not armor) but I'm concerned it might be on the strong side. Imagine running a team with 2x dwarf warriors with 2x Slippery Spatha + Vibrant Pain with a lot of Blind Rage and a wizard with dedicated armor removal and movement. Sure, NS is not the 8 to 11-damage attack it would be with a puppeteer priest, but you have 11-damage HtB 3 attacks in the equation and even more NS. I was also surprised to learn that the average damage of this build is comparable to VP + BJSS + Strongarm (6.5 for it versus 7.4 from the known build) with the drawback of having lesser attacks.

Another selling point for Eternal Darkness is that Negative Energy Being is coming! 5 damage per round and Encumber 1 sounds okay for a gold card.

To me, Soothing Darkness is overcosted and drags down other cards on items it's paired with. Is Negative Energy Being going to be a monster, or a player card? In either case, Lattimore's Relic gives 2 for (majortoken), as opposed to 3 for (majortoken)(majortoken).
I actually think Slippery Spatha (or whatever) looks fun, but I'm weird and play SP, so my opinion may not count.
Best of luck, @Deepweed , whichever you go with.

Vakaz's tool and @Magic Elves' post shows that Pressing Problems is epic. Should it really be epic, as we follow the +1 rarity clause for items with 4 of a kind of card? Is there any other item already in the game with six cards that has two rares and is epic? I always thought that the +rarity rule for multiple cards is followed as a separate gauge from rarity based on rares, and whichever rule gave a higher rarity won, i.e., 2 rares and 4-of-a-kind common would be a rare item since 2 rares predicts rare, and 4-of-a-kind common predicts uncommon (common +1 rarity), not epic (rare evaluation from rare count +rarity due to multiple cards).

My issue with this is that items with 1 rare and 5 commons are epics, while items with 4 rares (of at least 2 kinds) and 2 commons are also epics. There's quite the disparity there.
