I was wondering what kind of changes you would think of making to the cards if you were re-evaluating their card qualities. For example, there's no way Blind Rage should be paper quality.
I'm way too lazy at the moment to go through all the cards that I think needs their value to be changed, but here are some: - Enchanted Mail should be changed from Emerald to Gold; I think the nearest match is Barbed Platemail with only one less damage absorption + damages the attacker. - Spiked Mail should be Bronze instead of Silver; Even though attackers might get some damage when this armor triggers, it's still just glorified Mail. - Predictable Stab / Tricky Stab; they are the same value at 3, do the same amount of damage, other ones effect is a handicap and other ones a boon. Something needs to be changed. - Strong Stab / Fiery Stab; Initial damage with both of these attacks are the same, but Fiery Stab also has an amazing burn effect. And it's cheaper than Strong Stab!?! I'm also surprised that @LieutenantCommanderData didn't mention Shield Block...
Raging Strike is certainly not Bronze- Quality, it's regular Paper at best. Scatter Laser and Laser Whip don't seem worthy of Emerald Quality, they're good but not that good. Maze is Paper+ which is excessive for such a niche and random card.
I think Bless is underated as gold, since the default behaviour of this card (beside the healing) is to make all allies draw a card, without the nasty drawbacks you may have with cards such as Dwarven Battle Cry (which may give cards to your ennemies) or Leadership (which requires you to discard). Of course it is not a perfect card. For instance, you do not draw the cards immediately. But this also means you do not have to keep it in your hand before the actual fight starts. It is a terrain attachment, so it can be replaced. But the opposite is also true, as it can replace any terrain attachment under your team member's feet, without even requiring line of sight. People could push you out, but that is mostly using one card to prevent you from drawing one, IF you opponent feels like keeping a pushing card in his hand until the end of round. At least Bless does not stack with itself, but it still has a freaking synergy with Accelerate Time, not to mention Volcano. Also, I find it strange that it does on all allies what Consecrate Ground, which has the same quality, does on one square. Therefore I suggest Bless be raised to emerald quality.
I would be for raising Bless and lowering Consecrate Ground, but raising Bless isn't really functional due to all the items it is on already costing a major token. A lot of the items with Consecrate are major token as well, lowering the quality of those might make them playable due to not using major tokens.
I agree that a lot of traits are undervalued. My guess is that they were given low value so that class skills could be mostly made of traits without having to cost power tokens. That seems fair enough; but my suggestion is that rather than undervaluing the cards, maybe the class skills should be given a 'discount' in their power token costs. ie. let class skills (warrior, priest, and wizard skills) have slightly higher quality cards before they start costing tokens. The token cost doesn't have to represent the quality of the cards themselves. Instead, it should represent an increase in quality over what you'd get for free. Different item slots could have different 'base value', just as long as each token you add increases the quality by about the same amount.
