What are the worst cards in the game? The cards so bad they can almost make an item unplayable by themselves? There might be one situation where it would come in handy, but if it's terrible 99% of the time, it belongs on the Wall of Shame. When we get enough suggestions, I will post a poll and link to it here. I'll start: 1) Leap 2) Spiked Mail 3) Mind Worm Because links above didn't work: Shield Block Penetrating Bolt Raging Strike Leap Scamper Superstitious Enchanted Mail Scatter Laser Acid Spray Mind Worm
high taxes says: the best card is superstitiuos LieutenantCommanderData says: 2x raging strike, 4x leap LieutenantCommanderData says: legendary weapon, 1 major 1 minor LieutenantCommanderData says: you could call it LieutenantCommanderData says: Hopping Mad LieutenantCommanderData says: because thats how youll feel when you get it nevus says: bad luck is bad luck to draw
@Mind Worm: I've used this card. It's not overvalued at bronze, and certainly not one of the worst cards in the game. The worst block is subtle parry/shield block and the worst armor is thickened mail. Startling strike is the worst attack..
I think that suble parry is the second best paper block after pushback parry and the third best bronze or lower one after parry and pushback parry. A block that doesn't get baited by the weak magic attacks that should be countered by armor and instead only triggers for the more powerful and/or penetrating melee ones is just sweet. I'd say soothing darkness is pretty weak for a gold. Worst attack is probably raging strike. As far as magic goes illusory wall basically requiring priority to do something worthy of a silver is pretty cringeworthy, but that might be just me.
Armor: Ill-fitting Armor Assist: Minor Heal Attack: Laser Spray Block: Unreliable Block Boost: Healing Spirit Handicap: Superstitious Movement: Slowed Utility: Maze
Usually when people are talking about "worst" they are considering not only the card's strength but also its cost. Sure, Shield Block is better than Unreliable Block if you ignore cost; however, when you consider cost, Unreliable Block is ... still pretty bad, but Shield Block becomes arguably the worst card in the game. I'd much rather a shield have Unreliable Block because at least the token cost will be reduced. Oh, and the worst boost would almost certainly have to be one of the ones that doesn't draw a card, like Heavy Armor. By the way, why on earth isn't that card armor/handicap instead of armor/boost?
As you noticed, I only care about the cards usefulness, like the OP stated in his 1st post. Oh, and here's Flaxative's comment about Heavy Armor:
Oddly enough, concerning Heavy Armor, I just found this yesterday or so. When you look at it in Cards.csv, its Audio Key is ARMOR, Audio Key 2 is DRAWBACK. Hmmmm. $:^ }
Talking with people in world chat I have a rough list: Shield Block Penetrating Bolt Leap Scatter Laser Raging Strike Enchanted Mail Scamper Penetrating Stab Wall Of Illusion
No. How has Fright not even been MENTIONED, yet? NOTHING is as crippling or awful as your MP opponent KNOWING that one of your characters can't use any of the offensive cards that show up in their hand for a turn. NOTHING.
I picked fright cowardly in QD on a warrior once and I won. That deck was mostly defensive but it did have a Brutal Charge in it which made my character do a quite a bit more damage then nil(0). So don't be fooled to think characters with fright are harmless. PS: I like the flavor of the card and there is no way of balancing it without making it a different card
Pearwood staff is really pushed as are the tokenless boots with two 8 spaces moves, they probably require a specific decklist to shine(lots of purges/purging bursts for the boots?), but offer an enormous reward. Cowardly seems more painful to use. Does anybody use the low cost staffs with instable bolt and a bunch of deadly sparks? Instable bolt looks awful to me, probably worst paper quality magic card, but I never tried it.
I used reckless boots in my sayjan build on one of the card feeding priests. Even with fright on, that priest still could unholy power cards and battlefield training all his attacks and sprints to the warrior.
Meh, it's tar quality and duration 1. Yeah, it's bad, but it can't possibly be as overcosted as the other cards we're mentioning.
Honestly, all those cards are unplayable on common or maybe a few uncommon items but if you need to climb the ELO ladder then you have got to assess your inventory and surprise your opponent. I would say that they are unbearable but not unplayable. Thanks for reading!
