You added an extra 'e', there :p

And yeah, actually call them that in-game. Causes me a bit of grief when I try to search inventory for "bacon", or in this case, search the wiki for the card images :p
    "What? Ohhh, right."

Well, at least I've finally gotten the hang of typing in 'Dupl' when searching for Dupe- I mean, @DupleX in my friend's list.
For the longest time I kept trying to search by his nickname. :X
And I am ever so very easily confused..

Well, an alternative name for my item submission?
    Bacon, Bacon, Bacon

But that woulda made winning too easy, y'know?

    Funny stuff, @Rainingrecon :)
Great item as well, though it does seem very nearly a straight upgrade of Charged Opal- but then, I basically already use Elemental Diadem over it every time anyway, so that's already not a concern. :p

Always nice having more options for fine-tuning your build :)

I didn't know that; I just thought of something I thought would be fun. I think I wanted to use a beacon and for whatever reason the name came to me. All that was left was finding cards that fit. =)

I think the goal is to try and give something in hand that could limit your charge's range (ie, a slowed propulsion), and you can't easily activate to remove, like slowed. :)

That said, I could imagine Slowed having good flavor - either you can "charge up" your boots, playing slowed, and move at full speed, or they can be "wound down" at low power. That said, if you went with that flavor, Windup Boots might be a more appropriate name.

    Hi @Lancenot !
    First: Welcome to the Forums!
    Second: Great Username!
Main Point: I wanted to let you know your Aloyso's Arsenal item was being discussed here (this is the only thread where discussion of AA submissions is allowed).
You don't need to change your submission unless you wish to.
@FDrybob 's first point is certainly valid, the second is probably valid, and I'm not sure the third is actually considered at all. Also, this month's contest rules require one or more Citadel expansion cards on the item. (These cards can be identified by a little red icon in the lower left of the picture that looks kind of like a monitor and keyboard.)
As I said before, you don't need to change your item, but if you choose to, you can post here for free advice guaranteed to be worth every penny!
    Welcome again, and Good Hunting!

This thread has become a court and i keep wondering if it is a good thing that each and every design idea gets questioned here, asked for or not. But i guess if the submission doesnt abide the rules, the creator should be summoned.

I prefer PMing a player if the item doesn't meet contest criteria and comments aren't requested. Particularly newer players.
In a way, this thread has become something of a court of public opinion which has absolutely no power over the verdict. The only real judges for the submissions are Flaxative for the short list, and Jon for final approval.
On the plus side, this thread can be quite educational on the subject of CH item design. If one compares opinions expressed versus items selected over time, it might give a clue as to who has a clue, and help produce a winning item. I don't have the patience for that, but I do enjoy reading most of this stuff.

Flaxative said, "It is in your best interests to submit an item that can flavorfully be related to an existing Citadel item skin."

I wonder how many people actually did that.

I agree(I also pm people mentioning that their submission is invalid or is likely invalid).

Oh, it just takes a bit of creativity, and you can make most anything work. ~.^

Anyone have any item frameworks that are more 'grid-like', that they can think of to add the cybernetic texture to? :)
    Otherwise, that'll be my go-to mock-up for it ~.^

Though I'm sure @Pawndawan could make notably better mock-ups. :D

(I think this is my first post in this thread. Hm. Howdy, all. $:^ P heheh)

@DunDunDun, you mean like maybe one of the grids in Reverse Scan?

Interesting that Flak said, "Given the sci-fi theme, cards like Berserk Spin don't really count," when Berserk Spin isn't even a Citadel card. $F^ } $F^ } (Iirc, that Spin was only given to players after EttSC but was a Basic Set monster card beforehand, hm?) Anyway.

Some nice flavorful items with Accelerate Time, but I don't believe it will -- nor should it -- find its way onto player items for any cheap cost. It's a highly dangerous card. (I mean, just look at that shiny green title bar.) The fact that you can already get four into a single character's deck is scary and mitigated by otherwise mostly mediocre itemization. To make it minor (or even tokenless) to free up majors for staves... Wow, no thank you! $:^ b (And this is coming from someone who'd totally play Accel Time on minor if it were available, lol. Parody Knave .. heh heh)

For the rest of my first post here, I kinda wanted to disclaim my beyond-last-minute item:

I realize fully well that Laser Spray is Staff-only. However, at least that makes this Laser Malfunction card a card already situated on player items.

The flavor speaks for itself imo.

The actual mechanics of it. Healing Beacon can be a very powerful card. (I suppose it could be slightly less powerful if a bug/inconsistency ever got fixed, but I don't mind exploiting it while it lasts.) However, its ironic danger is how easily enemies can benefit from it, too -- mostly by also receiving its healing, but sometimes by taking advantage of turned backs when a char spins to place it away from an enemy. The further irony of the full item is of course found in Laser Spray. It damages 5 -- the same amount the Beacon heals! ha ha ha (and that wasn't even planned!) -- and like the beacon can heal friend and foe, the spray can damage friend and foe, and really on a larger scale than the Beacon, which I believe (or maybe just hope) makes up for HB's only having power in proximity. Furthermore, as anyone knows who's dealt with Laser Spray, the fact that it's Mandatory Action, not Cantrip, not a card-drawing Trait, is a painful handicap to draw manytimes. I mean, at least Impetuous Blast replaces itself and lets you choose what to play next.

I'd be curious to hear @Sir Veza's thoughts on using this in Campaign. So far, I believe it'd be a great item for that -- comical, whether or not highly effective, lol.

    EDIT P.S.:
    1. I had other ideas, including with Adaptable, but again, some cards should probably remain on high-level items.
    2. I love Destructive Purge and would play more of it if I could get my hands on it -- and that's probably why it's currently so limited on items (only two items in the whole game, and it's on each only once, wow). I think my first idea, even, was Genetic Therapy/Engineering, Brain Burn, Destructive Purge, but I just figured it would be so overpowered, I never even ran it through Vakaz's nor sought other drawback cards. (What is the in-universe theme of living conduits of higher/darker powers being the only ones to use Radiation anyway? Weird.)
    3. In light of that, the idea I submitted felt "tame" enough -- despite the somewhat off-class use of Laser Spray -- but I still kind of wonder if I should've only gone with one Healing Beacon maybe.
    4. Who said Push the Button was on staves and therefore Pull the Trigger might be tolerable on weapons? Just a reminder, staves have "standard" (non-Tasty) melee cards, which is what Push the Button generally draws; weapons don't carry magic cards (unless you want to count a Burning attachment or Laser Block's draws, in which case, especially of the latter, a limited supply of Pull the Trigger might actually be remotely feasible on a weapon, hey).

    Just one querstion...
Shouldn't a short circuiting "whatever" explode, instead of firing madly?
Battery explosion would probably fit better.

I think this one would be fun, and could be useful on some maps. I probably wouldn't use it in my serious farming teams, but they tend to be pretty focused and rarely use much healing. It would probably be too good my gonzo builds.

Considering that Blooming Ground would probably be amethyst quality in the extremely unlikely scenario where it's put into players' hands, I am willing to bet my life savings that this one won't get picked. :p

I really wish we had an access to these cards. It would make the game that much more diverse.

@ParodyKnaveBob Your item has a problem. It has a high damage high range card(laser spray), priests only get up to 2 damage on their high range cards.
