http://www.polygon.com/features/2013/2/5/3950872/bioshock-card-hunter Quote of the article? "It's very hard to give up your baby sometimes," Chey says. "You've created this thing and, I don't like where I'm going with this analogy, but it's like you go, 'This is kind of an ugly baby; I don't really want it. Let's get a better one.'"
Which PAX were they referencing? It looks a lot like the Main PAX booth. I pulled in a T-shirt from the booth when I went and beat Greenfang's Challenge, but I'm not sure which I'd have wanted more: the cape or the shirt!
That's such an awesome read. Finding out about Card Hunter I wasn't aware that some of the people responsible for the game were actually responsible for some of my favourite games of the past, I just came here because it seemed like one of my dream games. Once here, realizing the truth - it just becomes so much bigger. We're all nerds here.
That was a brilliant read, and has also introduced me to a brilliant website. Can't believe I've never come across Polygon before, but I've been looking for a site just like it for a while - not just 'this game has been announced, here a review of it' but more in depth looks at the development, analysis, industry etc. Essentially the 'features' bits of GamesTM magazine (if anyone knows it) in website form. Not to mention the snazzy layout
I'm Here Because Iv'e Been Searching For A Game,That Would connect How I Feel About Adventureing And Story Telling But,With A Mix Of,CCG Element's, This is a classic, invite your friends cheese poof's and soda sit down ,just like the good ol' days when i was 16 playing DnD with my cousin, when i first played it,my mind was blown by the amounts of custimazation and story telling,in fact I've got such a story Back when i was 16 my cousin Zachary pulled out,a boxed set of DnD,i was skeptical at first,"Pencil's,Paper,Dice?,I'm Not Sure". "well look it wouldn't kill you to play it,and if you don't like it we can do something else". after flipping through some of the books i start to get an understanding of how things work, and i really begin getting excited,my 12 year old brother comes in,and well wants to play too,i make a level 1 Halfling Theif Namned Thrain StabBlade,My brother makes a Orc Barbarian, and Zachary The Dungeon Master ,throws us into a campaign,we have heard reports about, dead bodies near a cave, and we go investigate,we first enter a room with a small pool, some stalactites with silver deposit's,and a couple of exit's,naturally i go and investigate the water, there is a small serpent in the liquid,i see the serpent and strike it,the serpent doesn't die,and latches onto my arm,it tries to bite me,i have a reaction attack and slice the blade through its head to try to pry it off, thankfully i do enough damage to severely hurt it,still alive poison save,I'm alive and not poisoned,i crush it with my boot, and breathe in heavily, even though i had the highest dexterity,i almost died from a little snake,"Zachary?,what the hell?,that was intense I've never felt this way while playing a game" that moment stuck with me through many years,so i decide to check out the silver deposit's,i roll a 16 i scrape a good amount of silver off and make some noise in the process,we go through a hallway, there's walls on each side and a hole in one of them now.....i SHOULD check the wall (highest Dex right?) my brother the Orc Barbarian wants to check it,he looks through the hole, and WHAM!,giant pike comes through and blinds him permanently in one eye. it was so unexpected we all burst out laughing i want to have moment's like this for my brother, and me i cant wait for this game to come out
