I noticed that the game developer's name is "Blue Manchu", Manchu is a people of China, which has 56 peoples;and Blue Manchu is an army force in the history,of the Qing Dynasty of China(Even now, there is a place called"Blue Manchu District" in Beijing). But I see no relationship between this game and China! And the main server must not be in China for it often lags here~
I think it is host by Amazon, but not sure if the servers are in the US or if they have servers in the country of the developers, which is Australia.
thank you~but why does the developer have a Chinese name?~that's strange~ I thought they were Chinese developers~
I think it is more an interesting sounding nick name. But that is the problem with a game played around the global. There are many examples of product names, which could totally be misunderstood in other languages, like Honda Fitta in Scandinavia, Mitsubishi Pajero in Spain or Ford Pinto in Brasil. There a lot more of this funny names.
I think it' a pun on "Fu Manchu" a western creation of an evil "chinese" Genius portrayed by the late Christopher Lee. it has nothing to do with real peoples.

I'm pretty sure there's an article somewhere where the name is explained. http://www.polygon.com/features/2013/2/5/3950872/bioshock-card-hunter
I am sure that is not a literal misunderstanding, because the icon of Blue Manchu is exactly a Manchu warrior's portrait(every chinese can tell it at first sight), in China's Qing Dynasty around the 18th century.Blue Manchu was one of the eight legions of Qing Dynasty. whatever~~
