Hi, I'm Zenebar. I've noticed that there isn't yet an introduction/ general chat thread, so I thought I'd make one! This game looks promising and it's always nice to make friends early. To start the chatting; I've noticed the Warrior/Rogue/Wizard triumvirate that is such a popular basis for most fantasy games. Which will you most align yourself with? Please answer in the poll.
Hey guys my name is hopibear, The first(ever) cardgame i played was actually an RTS game called battleforge. Its kinda cool to see a twist of an RPG with cards , which i really like to see. See u in the forums guys!
I picked warrior, which is odd since I don't really care for being a warrior - but for the last decade, I've been playing a lot of mmo's and for some reason I always get stuck playing one
Following a twitter post that linked to Kert Gartner's blog, I found an image of possible characters for the game. The blog entry was about the making of their commercial and showed a photo of the cutouts they used for the pieces. There are seven pieces in the photo, although one is just the back image of another. Seems there is a Sorceress or maybe a witch, a Dwarf with an axe and shield, a Knight or Paladin looking fellow wielding a 2-hander - but looks to have a shield on his back, the Ranger we've seen in screenshots, and then a rogue looking female. I'm hoping an upcoming screenshot or info tidbit will hint at gnome or halfling races! Edit: By the way - Ben(jamin? which does he prefer hehe) Lee is the perfect artist/designer for this. Love his work! Can't wait to see more!
Hello lowly peasants I am your lord breakfish, the masterful breaker of fish, if you need a fish broken consider the deed done, if you need a pickle jar opened, too bad because I'm as weak as a small child.
I am a strange fellow who writes things at times. No, really. I'm also an avid devourer of the writings of others, and storytelling in general. The thing I enjoyed the most about Magic, in fact, was the story that was hiding behind all the cards. I'm eager to see what happens with this project that has such a mass of different storytellers in it.
In which case some more info... I'm an old pen 'n' paper RPG'r from way back in the the previous century and loved the whole 'no boundaries' / 'tell your own story' freedom as opposed to the heavy rules based war-gaming stuff I was doing up until then. I've played dozens of PC RPGs and am now just getting into MMO stuff, LotRO especially. As I said in another thread I'm probably in the minority in never having played Magic other than as a PC game, but loved NetRunner and MechWarrior to bits. I'm looking forward to this game as it is both tear-jerkingly nostalgic - dig those d4's - and up to date, so win / win for me.
Howdy, all! I play to many games to name (ask and I have probably played it) and I will until I am living in house made from my collection. I look forward to chatting with everyone about this neat new game! I am also skilled at inadvertently destroying threads. If this thread dies after my post, I'm sorry. I also talk too much (as indicated by my first thread on this forum), so I'll keep this short.
Hehe indeed a nice find mate. Looks totally awesome.. Hmm those standplaces are probably from warhammer ^^ Hopefully they show maybe more Screenies of this
Seems like a sound structural design. All the paper will serve as insulation. So . . . ask, huh? Well, I heard tell of this really floorspace-intensive naval battle simulation, which I believe was with 20th century ships. It used realistic distances between the craft and so the battles basically required an entire room's carpet to play. Any idea what this was? And did you play it?
I will readily admit that I may have overstated the breadth of my gaming, though I do always like to have people throw out a challenge. Touche, Sir Knight. I believe that you are referring to Fletcher Pratt's Naval War Game. All I remember about this one is the weird point system for the ships (like a HP but for a battleship or something [bear with me it has been a long time]) and helping my dad move furniture so he could play it with one of his friends. So, I haven't played it (you got me ), but I know it to a degree.
Yes, that's surely it! The detail I'd forgotten was "and it has a very plain title, indicating that the creator wasn't motivated by the same forces that would bring us, say, 'Blood-Drenched Tides 1914!!!'" And you don't have to have played it. You're still a real gamer. You can still hang out with the big kids.
Hello! Looks like a nice community forming up here. Took a couple days but I finally got a confirmed account for these forums! I was chomping at the bit too...this game looks outstanding! My name is Michael and I am a Card Hunter.
Hi, I'm Rich. Some folks on (and off) the internet may know me as "Pocky" or "Pockyman". (Ahh, old nicknames, they never die.) I'm an avid gamer, and I love to play games of all types, from card and board to console, PC, and mobile. I probably spend too much time analyzing them and their systems, though. Here's hoping Card Hunter comes out sooner than later!
