I like spectating low rank player's games and today i saw a player with 540 elo have 2 searing pains - while i dont have any and havnt even SEEN it in shop. - is this normal? and dont say they got lucky because as a reminder - they have 2 of them not 1
Some players managed to buy 2 (or, in a few cases, more) VPs over a few months, at the time when Randi didn't work like christmas came every week, and the daily deal wasn't around either. While I managed to get mine only a full year after I started playing back in September 2013. Maybe he got the 2 Searing Pain as drops from regular SP play, farming, Randimar or a combination of any of these. Edit: Loot Fairy and league chests count too I guess? Yeah, lots of chances for dropping good stuff. If, say, every rank 500 player but my grandmother got 2+ Searing Pains, that might have been pesky. But a single person? The RNG can do amazing things, nothing strange with that. I think this is more of a case of you being unlucky with finally getting an item you want, than anything strange with the player you'r talking about.
So it isn't really the norm, but it's possible. Also, some people don't really start PVP until after they've finished the campaign. They tend to be significantly better equipped than other MP beginners.
Is there a way you know he had two SPs? He dropped six fireballs in a match? Bit jealous but I had two Hands of Melvs drop in the first week of playing, so I suppose anything's possible. There would also be the occasional player out there with silly money. Seen plenty of games where rich players will invest several hundred dollars to get a fast start.
he had 2 mages and both had at least 1 SP yep i guess people do pay crazy money by stealing their parent's credit cards because a grown-up woudnt do that exept if they really, really like the game or get more money than the amount they spend.
I'd say luck. About a month ago I decided I REALLY wanted a Mordecai's. Within the week I had two drop in the course of three days (one from a league, one from Cardstock). So these things do happen. It is however the only time I've ever managed to WISH myself a specific legendary.
