Hello all, I have seen a lot of discussion lately about the difficulty of the game between levels 6 and 8. I was wondering if it would be helpful / if people would be interested in me putting together a Beta Diary à la Zalminen's excellent work (http://www.cardhunter.com/forum/threads/zalminens-beta-diary.608/) for these adventures. Having just played through Diamonds of the Kobolds while keeping notes and screenshots I can now fully appreciate just how much of an investment of time this is likely to be, so if there isn't much interest then I'll just play through them again and offer my thoughts in Joe's Battle Hints thread. However, if there is interest I'd be happy to provide a turn-by-turn report of my progress. Cheers, Assussanni P.S. The quality of my writing won't be a match for Zalminen's, so don't go expecting anything amazing...
Well, I was thinking of trying to write it in a way that points out the tactics I used in the hope that it might be useful to people are having trouble. However, it may be that the difficulty is caused by the variety of items that people have at this point in the game rather than the maps themselves. In which case it is probably more valuable for me to simply add my ideas to Joe's thread. Also, the more guide-like I make it the more time I will have to spend on it and the slower I'd be able to produce it (and it might still be rubbish!). I certainly won't take offense if you (or anyone else) tells me that you think it isn't a good idea, that's exactly what I'm trying to find out
Good point. I think that's the main issue. Therefore, I guess I can't predict how helpful a diary-type-thing would be because players will probably have a totally different experience based just on the gear they have access to at the time. So, hmm... I don't know. Coming from someone who had/is having great difficulty at those modules(I actually quit playing the campaign because of them), I would definitely find it helpful if it were more guide/walk-through oriented. But, as you said, that would take more work on your part. So, I'm kind of on the fence about it...I can't really give you a definite answer. Sorry.
How do people feel on written guides vs video playtroughs? I have been thinking the written ones require a lot more work, really.
I'd much rather make a video too, but (a) I'm not technologically savvy enough to know how and (b) I'll be the first to admit that I don't have a particularly pleasant or easy voice to listen to were I to add commentary. Maybe I'll look into it anyway. Thanks for the responses so far.
I'm in the same boat, have been considering video guides a while - but not gone for it. Yet. Would be good if someone does it at least!
It's pretty simple, actually. Just download a screen capture program, record, then upload. There is one slight issue, though, and that's editing. Editing a video can be real *****, especially if you're new to it. However, if you make your video good enough in one go, then you won't even need to edit it. You can learn pretty quickly how to do all this through Googling/YouTubing. Don't worry too much about that. What people usually find annoying the most is not a person's voice itself, but them not speaking loud enough. If you speak loud and clear, you should be fine.
