I might be one of the biggest fans of Quick Draw (QD), but I know I am not the only one. I understand this would be a long-term development if it would ever be considered at all, but I would love to have the option to play ranked QD, especially if the drawing phase could be sped up. I think QD offers a different way to play but it is a shame it can only be played on a rotating basis. Granted I am very happy that the league schedule has more leagues being played. Right now I often try to get 5 or more QD matches in when I am in a league. Maybe the fun would wear off if this was a regular thing, but it takes away a lot of the fuss of planning a build. In the meantime I wish there was a record for league matches in our profile. I know this is yet another complex ask, but if you don't ask you don't get.
Yes I did. Thank you for noting. Of course playing casual is kinda like playing poker with play money, it is still fun, but you don't care as much if you lose.
No shinies, so it's kinda like playing poker without the play money. Among other things, ranked QD would be a simple means of plausible rating tanking. I don't see it happening, even if it's fun to think about.
In normal ranked games you choose your characters and build a deck using items you own. As you do this, you also build a playing history. A 1400+ player dropping to the 1100s won't usually happen if they're actually trying to win. Getting bad race/class combos in QD can be an excuse for losing, as can getting (or deliberately choosing) poor cards. Dropping thousands of points in this scenario is still unlikely, but could actually be caused by a horrible run from the RNG. This probably isn't a big deal, because tanking still appears to be happening. It just gives more room to place the blame elsewhere.
*shrug* Why is tanking an issue at all? Just to speed up gold chest acquisition by being placed in theoretically easier matches?
The implication here is that if someone gets bored playing strong metabuilds and wants to experiment with weird class or item combinations or in-game strategies, they must be consciously attempting to tank their rating? That's offensive. I don't understand why people worry about people who might try to tank their rating, but if it's an actual concern, the correct solution should be to reward people for having a high rating, rather than try to punish them for losing rating.
Feel free be offended if you like. I understand experimentation, toy builds, and being tired of playing the same build. I didn't say it was every case, but I think most players can come up with a new playable build before dropping three to five hundred elo points. If elo was tracked for each player, tankers would show a saw-tooth wave pattern. A series of sharp dramatic drops, followed by ramping increases. It's BM's official policy, and it's (roughly) tracked by the Standing rating. As far as I can tell, the punishment only comes into play when joining a guild. I don't worry much about it, but players who repeatedly tank their elo are on par with teenagers who prefer beating up 10 year olds to facing someone their own size. I've no use for their sort.
The rating in game seems to range from 0 to 2000, why are you talking about people "dropping three to five thousand elo points"?
