obliterating chop and disorienting block?

I was playing MP and Obliterating Chop targeted two of my characers (one with only 7 life and no blocks or armor, call him character 2). Obliterating chop first hit character 1 (the one with plenty of health) and he blocked it with Disorienting Block. I used disorienting block to move the attacker out of range of character 2 (with only 7hp). Disorienting block still hit (and killed) character 2.

Is this an intended result (In world chat someone suggested that obliterating chop hits both characters at once but the results are shown in sequence) or a bug?

Blocks always only work for the character being affected by the block.
Disorienting is a bit weird in that it can move the attacker out of range, but yes, attacks happen simultaneously.

This is more notable with full AoE (burst, linear, etc) effects, where you can easily notice characters blocking it successfully while others still get hit.

Seems almost assuredly WAI, though it'd be kinda interesting if certain effects could interrupt attack sequences.
(And in this particular case, feels like it should, given how Dodge/Skip/etc work.)

Disorienting Block used to cancel AoE/chop attacks if the movement pushed the attacker to a place from which the attack targets were no longer legal. Not sure if/when we changed it, but this has always been a bit of a funky interaction.

Honestly, if things like Disorienting forced a recheck of LoS/range on affected enemies, it would add quite the dynamic to build mechanics, and fit in better with expectations relating to effects such as dodge.

Flip side, Disorienting really -does not need to be any better than it already is- ;)

Really one of the more fun and versatile blocks out there :)

On the flip side, that's certainly one way to help counter how good burst spells are- I know I've pushed enemies out of LoS with Disorienting several times in the past, in the middle of their AoE sequence. :)

Whatever the interaction is, I'm sure it's emergent rather than intended. Which doesn't mean it's a bug... CH is full of weird synergies and quirks like this.

You mean not specified behaviour? I think it should be specified and readible from the rules. But yeah, that is much more work than you would think. If I look into the Magic the Gathering rules, where sooo many different layers exist just to make everything consistent, than I become dizzy.
