I would like to BUMP this post. I suggest adding an icon (+name) of the caster beneath attachments. There is plenty of room. One situation where this would be useful: You face 3 fire wizards, they spam every fire spell in the book. You are trying to figure out if you are dead next turn. One of the enemy wizards has a Firestarter attachment but which burning attachments are under his control?? *purging random guy* *ending turn* *character dies*... I know it's possible to go through the combat log and find out who cast what and what got overwritten by who. It's also possible to memorize if you pay attention to the game. However i feel focus should be on tactical decisions based on visuals, not memory-overload. Thoughts? Example: Yeah it's handwritten using gold and gems! EDIT: Would also be a good idea to indicate the caster of terrain attachments. Example: Both parties use loads of terrain attachments... Unless you memorize who placed what... You can't know for sure if Martyr Blessing will trigger or not when taking damage from a terrain attachment... (other cards are affected by this as well)
Would add comfort, but i don't see it as necessity. But if we ever get more character icons, be sure to add some to the main map to indicate the active party. I am fed up to unintentionally start normal games with my deathmarch build.
I suggested a while ago to highlight the controller of the attachment http://forums.cardhunter.com/threads/suggestion-highlight-the-controller-of-attachments.6333/
Would be nice. And it would also bring us back to these ****s who name all their characters the same.
Yeah i was about to mention in my original post that names could be exploited. That's why i went with character icons.
I support this on the condition that the game ALSO add the arrow design. You know, for general purposes: instead of making a section of the screen glow to draw your attention, the game would pop up a bouncing "THIS" arrow.
Ha! I actually did that twice yesterday, and I thought of the same thing. I would think this feature (also the one OP suggests) would be a good addition. I especially like Robaukes idea, because it would give a more "live, ACTION" feel when you are searching for a Multiplayer (MP) game. Having your characters ready for battle, etc. When I introduced this game to a friend of mine and showed the MP part of the game, the first thing he said was: does the map actually do something?? Putting the avatars of your warriors there would have probably changed that first impression. Added: -looking at the multiplayer screen now, I have no idea where they would fit that
Here is a link to my fleshed out suggestion concerning a party indicator on the map. - http://forums.cardhunter.com/threads/suggestion-active-party-indication-near-the-mp-keep.5982/
Adding to my original post: Would also be a good idea to indicate the caster of terrain attachments. Example: Both parties use loads of terrain attachments... Unless you memorize who placed what... You can't know for sure if Martyr Blessing will trigger or not when taking damage from a terrain attachment... (other cards are affected by this as well)
It's easy for things to get confusing, like when playing Volcano against geomancers and they respond with Blooming Ground. BTW, I think Taunt has been weakened to allow you to target any member of the group that cast it, not just the specific char. Or so it seemed when I last played Melvelous.
I would like to BUMP this post. Based on cards in the new expansion. Beacons! What if both parties spam beacons? There is nothing indicating if beacon is ally or enemy. As stated previously, there is plenty of room beneath the image of the card. It could read: Caster/owner: insertnamehere add an image of the character also, since people can exploit and name party members the same
Beacons have a blue ring around them if they are yours, red if they are from your opponent. That being said, it would be nice to know which wizard cast which fire spell if using a lot of Instant Burn.
Yeah i actually noticed this just now. Came back to correct myself. Still a problem on old terrain attachments though. And the issue you stated ofc.
Illusion is already color-coded (because of the Oozeball league), the rest don't care who stands on them.
Yes there is some truth to that. However there are certain cards that only trigger when taking damage from enemy sources. So the attachment might not care if it's enemy or ally standing on them. But i care if the terrain attachment is an ally or enemy
