4 size enemy, such as an Ogre or Dragon, only get shot by a single beacon. Where as a a 1 size character will be hit by both adjacent laser beacons. Problem grows as there are more beacons placed. A 1 size character surrounded by 8 beacons gets hit 8 times where as a 4 size character surrounded by 12 beacons only gets hit a single time.
Really? I would have expected it to get hit 5 times because large figures often only count the bottom tile they stand on. On the other hand, there is specific code to prevent large figures from being affected by multiple terrains they stand on (like if they are standing on 4 tiles of lava) so maybe this is a side effect of that.
I'll have to stack beacons and check again, but I'm pretty sure it's only going yes/no when checking terrain affects on large monsters instead of counting each terrain (which really matters with these new terrain mod cards affects adjacent squares). Will have to test radioactive goo as well, another new terrain type that affects adjacent squares but I'm guessing it also suffers from this limitation. Too bad, I was looking forward to drowning the white blitz dragon in just an obscene pool of laser beacons and radioactive goo!
Hopefully this gets fixed / changed. I'd also like to get my revenge against Blizkenripper using those neat new terrain cards.
I'd be interested in seeing what happens when his armor tries to reflect attachments created by terrain.
The black cards get put on the person who created the radiation terrain. Yea it sucks, but that's what it does.
That's what you get when you mess with magic or alien technology . But seriously, bug or feature? Comment from a developer?
Right now, this is a feature. As you guessed, it's the limitation that a large figure can only be affected by one terrain attachment.
On consideration, I think we'll change this to exclude area effect terrain (beacons) from this limitation. Will be in next build.
Thanks, Jon. That was bugging me as well, since it made beacons a lot less functional-for-their-cost against PvE boss/mini-boss fights.
