A couple of minor copy-editing suggestions: "If you play a card, that ends your team’s turn. If you pass to Bert, he can now either play a card (ending your team's turn) or pass to Charlie. If Whether Charlie passes or plays a card, that his action ends your team’s turn, since you’ve now all had an opportunity to do something." [This series of sentences was confusing even though I knew what it was trying to say.] "from the tavern keep"
"If you choose to play a card, that action will end your team's turn. If you instead pass to Bert, he can now either play a card (thus ending your team's turn) or pass to Charlie. Regardless of if Charlie passes or plays a card, your team's turn will now end, since all members of your team have now had an opportunity to perform an action." Would be a more proper use of grammar structures. How is it on understandability, neon? @Jon "What about multiplayer?" Still using co-op in a rather atypical way, I see :x Well, as much of a headache as that distinction gives me on a regular basis [and while I'm the only one agitated by it, certainly not the only one confused by its use as is], and even if you don't want to switch to a more readily comprehended 'cooperative' in place of 'co-op' for that section; At the very least, you'll want to review the grammar there as well, I had to review that section a few times to figure it out, and it's not even a new feature :X
I just made two further edits regarding: If you catch the Loot Fairy or Hidden Bandit you actually get 2 extra guaranteed Rare items, not one. You can only attempt quests if your team leader hasn't completed them (so when people finish the main campaign they should find themselves suddenly very popular).
I'm not seeing anything in the post about that? Closest I find is which seems to indicate entirely the opposite impression as I'm getting from your comment above. :scratches head: Okay, so the overall impression I'm getting is, [1. no bonus treasure rewards if host opens a quest in unlockable content you don't own. 2. host inexplicably can't invite you at all to ANY quests they've completed already 3. non-unlockable-content quests aren't an issue, since your co-op friends can host those themselves once you've run them through the campaign once]. Does that sum it up? If so, #2 makes no sense, though that's more an issue with how Quests are handled, than the co-op clarifications: What's the reasoning behind not being able to do Quests more than once, other than needing to code around limiting treasure boots more than once? There doesn't seem to be any actual need to limit it in single player, that I notice. More importantly, it seems like it could be a good repeat feature for co-op parties once they've finished the campaign and quests once. Especially seems awkward to limit it in co-op based on if the host has already run it before, that means co-op parties consisting solely of existing players won't ever be able to run Quests together, no matter what they do. Given how enthusiastic Flaxative always is about 'it's about the content, not the rewards' when discussing purchases and Manticores, it's just a weird distinction to limit being able to play special content modes but in very narrow conditions.
Yar, I clarified the point in question below that The 'inexplicable' wasn't due to the mechanic in question, but how the design limits co-op replayability
I noticed Kalin mentioning that Manticores could be co-oped, how does that work? Namely, on Manticores that have the occasional single-unit map?
If there's only one unit then the team leader controls it themselves, but the rest of the co-op team gets to spectate and heckle them, and everyone in the team receives loot.
I wood believe it. So what you're saying is, I can force my friends to carry me through Manticores. I rate this feature 5 out of 5 gnome-thwomps.
Does Hidden Bandit work normally, as long as the player has the adventure on their own and it isn't exhausted?
I just found it in In the Belly of the Beast .. (on my first play on that map) last item was not treasure but that EPIC you get..
Fairy and Bandit always hybridize with guaranteed rewards on first run-through, apparently So that's working as intended, whether it happened in single player or co-op.
Tried the Hidden Bandit with co-op, and it only showed up for the team leader. The extra rares (and an upgrade to Orc Painting) were nice, but the other players got bukkis. Is it supposed to work like this?
