Since I've already have most of the good stuff from the previous sets, it wasn't very profitable for me to buy chests... until now! I've spent $20 and got 27 Citadel chests. The drops were quite promising: TWO Laser Rapiers!!! Guys, this is something. Great mobility, potentially great damage and an awesome block with a placement control. This is a new Vibrant Pain St. Yatzie's Genetic Console. Too random for my taste, but a great potential. Vak's Portable Infirmary. Very very strong. We've never had two healing terrain cards in one item before. If you stack two Infirmaries, you can heal really fast. Atomic Drop Console. No set can avoid having bad Legendaries Of course, I've got a lot of Epics. Most notable are: three Nova Axes (a fantastic weapon - great damage with awesome mobility and other very useful tech) two Blessed Radcannons (all six cards are good if you like spreading radiation) three Starsaint's Manipulators. I can easily see a Vamp priest running this. Spacemartyr's Relic. Looks promising. three Mercury Stones. That Hypnotic Beacon should be very funny. As you may guess, I'm quite happy with my chests. Try yourself and post your loot here!
I'm happy to read this, but cannot believe Mind Worm never was really popular, though I consider it underrated. IMHO, St. Yatzie's Genetic Console is much better, unless you really need a lot of Radiation Bombs, in which case you should prefer Cursed Radcannons.
Yatzie's is strong, and Radcannon is sweet, but neither has the Drop Console's density of Bombs per token.
Sorry for moving the old thread up, but I guess creating a new thread would be even worse. Today I've got nothing good from my Randimar and decided to go for the chests. I've bought 24 chests for 600 pizza... here are the results: Legendaries: Spector's Raygun - very weak, I guess Command Stone is better. Zoltan's Laser Scourge - a weak mockery on The Lunginator. I may try using it until I get my 3rd Lunginator though Flame Warper - a decent item for a burning wizard. I mean, it can really replace some traditional burning item, especially if you have a second Volcano wizard. Blox's Unyielding Bulwark - why Subtle Parry? Why??? Did the developers really consider Laser Block so awesome to compensate it with the crappy block? Throon's Quick Laser Shield - they really did. RiP, two legendary shields. Bloome's Barging Boots - could be used just for fun IMHO, the price is too high for the function. But if the map really forces you to fly, you may finally clear the dust off these boots. Epics: 4 Caustic Warper - a poor man's Reality Warper. Sometimes can be even better, if you want to add some acid to your lava. I had only one, now I have five 4 Scourge Of The Overmind - a very blunt and stupid weapon. No movement, but there are attacks depending on it. Four copies OMG... 4 Vogel's Confusotron - they wanted to make it crap, and they did it. 3 Crocker's Lucky Laser Shield - not bad, but overcosted IMHO. 2 Aegis Of Aversion - now this one really can be played by a supporting priest having almost no attacks. You get two wonderful blocks and a trait - awesome deal. The problem is I have three of them 2 Xek's Nanocarbon Plate - a poor man's The Softener. Not that bad really. 2 Overheated Mesmeriser - has some potential for a Volcano party. Especially if you have two Korenchkin's Tactical Tunics like me and can eventually adapt to the Brain Burn damage. 2 Spacemartyr's Relic - I don't like the cards synergy here (Inspiring Presence is better for mages, while Martyr Blessing is better for warriors), but at least there's no bad or weak cards here. 2 Kroll's Laser Rifle - crap 2 Mercury Stone - I have six of them. Can you invent at least one good usage besides selling them? 2 Blessed Radcannon - the cursed item is soooo much better than the blessed one 2 Spacedragon Warpcloak - crap. 1 Command Stone - could be useful if you need to block the narrow passage. All three cards help in that. 1 Nova Axe - one of the best weapons in the game! Too bad I have five now 1 Glowing Gland - too random and too expensive IMHO, but I have four copies now... 1 Yod'd Purification Kit - very bad synergy between a range 1 attack and Radioactive Spray. 1 Starsaint's Manipulator - just too weak for its price. 1 Starknife - really nice weapon. I have only this one copy, BTW. 1 Cybernetic Boots - just a mockery. Boots for a yellow token with Trip? 1 Reckless Warp Boots - actually very nice boots, though pretty special. Imagine you really need to run FAST: for instance, the scenario really favors the player who grabs the victory area first. Here you have a Move 8 card, a Move 6 card flying (on average) and a Move 3 card. 1 Zod's Vile Spaceplate - quite a decent armor for a vampire priest. Why not? 1 McKay's Energy Cube - nice, but has a bad card like Atomic Drop Console. Both cards aren't that bad if you manage to keep your distance for the three turns, but that isn't going to happen. What do I feel now? I have mixed feelings. I've hoped to open a second Cursed Radcannon, The Softener and Stargod's Raiments, but failed. On the other hand, it could be worse: after all, there are six new flashy Legendaries for my museum One or two of them may even see play some day. There are also some good Epics, though not many. Unfortunately, Sky Citadel has a LOT of crappy and overcosted items.
