Sorry, I don't understand your argument here. If you have better cards than Flanking Move and have to discard something, you may safely discard the Flanking Move, but that doesn't make it bad. In some situations you can discard Mass Frenzy to keep Flanking Move. Don't make me wrong, a decision whether to buy something or not is purely your decision. But don't think that Command can replace Bloody Command: the art of deckbuilding is not just using the items with good cards, but also not using the items with the bad ones. Slowed is bad because you will get one useful card less when you draw it, and you will have to spend an action to get rid of it. Card disadvantage in this game is very bad, probably even worse than Vulnerable, because you will draw Slowed when you need Mass Frenzy, attack or healing. I've bought all three copies of Bloody Command because I hope to build a team of three human vampire priests one day.
The one item from Randimar's that I'm really thinking about this week is Luke's Iron Hand. I did a search for other mentions and was surprised to find that it It's not tokenless, but at the cost isn't exhorbitant. And, at least with the Cult of the Bejewelled everywhere these days, it seems like TK is preferable to other, damage-dealing ways of moving enemies around. I haven't attempted a control wizard yet, but if I ever were to this seems like something I'd want to have. Am I overlooking something crucial?
I mean, for 2000 gold less, your third TK moves 2 guys instead of 1 in Ring Of Appropriation ... Yeah it deals damage but isn't the card advantage usually worth it?
@Mr. Magnifico - keep in mind that Bandreus' comment is likely from before the recent buff to Telekinesis. Before, Telekinesis didn't teleport the target, and it was a 2-range spell. It was bad. Luke's Iron Hand was 3x Bad. That makes for a pretty bad (and sad) item.
If comparing to Ring of Appropriation, it's definitely not worth the purchase; IMHO the ring has better cards. (well, a card to be exact)
I like Luke's Iron Hand better than Ring of Appropriation. It lets you save cards while you are Savage Cursed and teleporting 2 squares can often be much harder to recover from if there are walls or impassable terrain involved.
I got a question for ya guys. I run a savage wizard, I have enough copies of both Luke's Hand and the Ring of Appropriation. What do you think is the right balance of telekinesis and GoW? Edit: To clarify, the savage curse isn't activated on telekinesis, but on GoW. What is the right balance of both cards?
Hmm - Just noticed Waasker's White Cup... I have 2k. Is it worth buying as I want to experiment with an anti-wizard wizard for MP. Having said that I bounce around 1050-1200 range so I'm not sure me buying Legendaries because I think they may be useful is a great idea.
And that's what I'm building "Smokey Bear" around. Just wanted to know if fitting Waasker's White Cup in to the build (don't ask me how) is either possible or desirable. + it just looks cool.
wow, didnt even know that thing existed! i might have even used it to make a counterspell deck - good vs priests AND mages (and i got that vial thing)
That's harsh - particularly if you don't have either of them yet. I'm actually a bit relieved that Randimar's mostly has junk for me this week - because I'm broke as well. (I did end up buying both Hawlic's Surging Shield and Angry Jack's Helmet at the end of the week - leaving me with nearly zero gold.) This week, the best legendaries are Darune's Dagger; Perilous Agility; and Axander's Robes - all of which I have already, and none of which are very useful anyway. (I actually do use Darune's Dagger and Perilous Agility a fair bit - but they are never really important.) The only thing I'm tempted to buy this week is Wlakwa's Boots. So, I'm kind of relieved that there isn't much for sale - but that's slightly irrational, I suppose. If the shop was full of great items that I couldn't afford, I wouldn't have missed out on anything more than if the shop was completely empty. The next week is random either way, and so it makes no difference what I'm missing out on this week!
I too had a Savage Iljin skull in my Randimar's and snapped it right up without even consulting you guys. Usually I don't buy stuff from Randimar's right away in the unlikely event that things drop for me during the week they're in stock, but if I get more Iljin skulls to drop this week, so be it. I also have a Bynzer's Black Spear and Ichabod's Buckler in stock. I have pretty much just enough gold to buy both if I spend it all. Of the two, I'm more excited about Ichabod's Buckler. I have an MP warrior who's using a Steel-Rimmed Buckler right now. For the same token cost, I'd get more versatile blocks, although I'd lose a bit of card advantage in a toe-to-toe melee exchange. But maybe I should save my gold in hopes that an Aegis will show up next week? The black spear looks like a solid vamp weapon, but I lean mostly towards support priests. On the other hand, maybe if I had a black spear or two I'd like vamps better. You never know how the meta will change, so I'm all for snapping up keystone items to keep my options open. Will I kick myself if I pass on the spear and then later want to build a vamp, or is it not as indispensable as all that?
Bynzer's Black Spear isn't indispensable for a vamp. For the school of thought that puts all buffs on a separate priest, 2x Vampire Blades are better for an "all vamp attack, all the time" version. Note: In my experience, if you run 4x Loner (or more), it's best to avoid Vulnerable.
Been out of the game a while, trying to figure out what is good again. Here are my legends for the week. Azgul's Orb Captain Cedric's Helm Darkblood Glaive Kazmir's Staff Orb Of Eex Staff Of Embers own a staff of a million embers The Hackmaster The Lunginator own 1 White Flame Possible good Epics? Ixtli Amulet Staff Of The Inferno Simin's Glowing Mirror Just curious if anything is worth the purchase and where it could be best used.
Here's what I'd consider buying if I had such a good luck with the shop as you have: Azgul's Orb = Best tokenless item for Firestorm Wizard. (heck, it's really good for burning wizards too) White Flame = Best friend your Staff of Million Embers can have! Captain Cedric's Helm = Just the best tokenless helmet. Darkblood Glaive = You can't go wrong with Savage Curse. Even all the attacks in this weapon are great. Now I only play the single player campaign, but I'm quite sure that all these items shine in multiplayer too.
